Season 3
Hester & Ester Bester is a South African, Afrikaans-language television sitcom created by Willie Esterhuizen which tells the story of two sisters from Bloemfontein who move in with their aunt Bessie and - together with their friend Trompie Theron - cause chaos for no good reason.
The main characters are of course the "Bloemfontein Blondes" – Hester (Karen Wessels) and Ester (Marisa Bosman). They share a house with aunt Bessie (Lizz Meiring) whose main focus in life is to find husbands for them, despite working nights supervising a crew cleaning office blocks.
Soft-hearted Hester is an air hostess for Banana Airways which only flies one route, from Johannesburg to Durban and back. Ester is a dance instructor with curves at Marthur Curry dance school, who dreams about a life on stage and has an insatiable appetite for the good things in life.
To add more comedic flavour to the women's dating exploits, Trompie (Izak Taljaard) - their gay neighbour and hairdresser - is constantly upset about his partner.
Hester & Ester Bester is an Original M-Net Production written by Willie Esterhuizen and executive produced by Willie and Pieter Esterhuizen for kykNET.
