Season 4
Mzanzi Ridez is a South African magazine show produced by Fixerfilm focusing on car customisation and hip hop music, which documents South African car customisations, gadgets that are synonymous with the culture and latest trends in international and local motoring.
The series originally aired on DStv's Channel O from 4 January, 2007 to 22 February, 2011. There are 43 hour-long and 15 half-hour episodes in four seasons. The series later aired on Mzansi Wethu (Season 4 only). See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.
Season 4 originally aired on Channel O from 16 November, 2010 to 22 February, 2011, on Tuesdays at 21h00. New episodes broadcast weekly.
Season 4 premiered on Mzansi Wethu on Wednesday 7 August 2013, at 19h30. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are 15 episodes in the fourth and final season.
Synopsis
Each week the show features all the car gadgets that are synonymous with pimping your ride, from car budget builds to cosmetic aspects like mag wheels and safety issues like brakes and safety belts.
The show also takes a look at the blinged-out car shows and the illegal racing nights that are held around South Africa.
The show gives you a look at everything about cooked up rides and banging Hip Hop tunes. Mzanzi Ridez brings you the latest trends from Sema, Las Vegas and Los Angeles as well as checking out what's cooking on the continent plus all the local crazy car and Hip Hop action in Mzansi.
Drifting is fast becoming the new trend in motorsport and Mzanzi Ridez brings the freshest flava of drifting from the continent and around the world.
From backyard to million rand top end builds Mzanzi Ridez keeps you in the know with exclusive reveals on rides never before seen in the world and one on one interviews with Motoring legends.
Mzanzi Ridez is embellished with girls, fashion and music, including special deejaying sessions with Ready D.
All four seasons were hosted by DJ Ready D with co-presenters Saskia Falken (Seasons 1-2), Amanda Dilima (Season 3) and Sthembiso Khoza (Season 4). The series is produced by Richard Moordyk and directed by Neil Webster.
