Season 4
Footballers' Wives is a British television drama series created by Maureen Chadwick and Ann McManus which surrounds the fictional Premier League Association football club Earls Park F.C., its players and their wives against the backdrop of bitchiness, back stabbing, adultery and murder.
The series aired in the UK on ITV from 8 January, 2002 to 14 April, 2006. There are 42 hour-long episodes in five seasons.
The series originally aired in South Africa on SABC3 from 13 January, 2003 to 15 January, 2007. It was rebroadcast on SABC3 in 2012. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.
Season 4 originally aired on SABC3 from 6 February to 3 April, 2006, on Mondays at 21h00. New episodes broadcast weekly.
A rebroadcast of Season 4 premiered on SABC3 on Friday 7 December 2012, at 22h35. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are nine episodes in the fourth season.
Episode Synopses
Season 4
They're young, they're rich, they're sexy, and they've got everything that fame and money can buy. As the wives of players on the soccer team known as the Sparks, they should be having the time of their lives... but the reality is very different.
Several couples deal with marriage, sex, drugs, high fashion, fast cars, staggering salaries, catfights, mansions, copious affairs and life in the celebrity spotlight.
In Season 4, Tanya and Amber both have their babies, but Tanya's continued scheming results in her being banished abroad. After the team causes a rape scandal during a party in Spain, one of the players is kidnapped by the victim.
Jackie Pascoe marries club manager Roger Webb. Newcomers Bruno and Lucy Milligan suffer problems in their marriage due to controlling Bruno's emotional and sometimes physical abuse.
After Lucy runs off with Dr. Giles Arrowsmith, whom she met on the Internet, Giles tries to kill Lucy, himself and Lucy's daughter by re-creating the accident that killed his fiancée the previous year.
Blind with revenge, Bruno accidentally shoots Conrad instead of Giles.
