Season 5
DI Humphrey Goodman is finally settled on the beautiful island of Saint Marie, but he can't help feeling that something's missing from his life...
When Humphrey decides buying a boat is the answer to his problems, Dwayne correctly diagnoses a mid-life crisis – the real root of Humphrey's malaise is his lack of love life.
Confident there's a formula to finding love, Humphrey enlists the help of Florence, only to discover the complexities of dating are more confusing than any case he's tried to crack.
Humphrey's deductive powers may not be much use on the singles scene but, back on the job, his considerable intellect and experience are tested to the full, as he faces some of the island's most perplexing murders yet.
In the fifth season, Humphrey and the team enter the shady world of island politics when the governor of Saint Marie is poisoned at her leaving party. Could the murder have something to do with an uninhabited island that had recently been reclaimed by the French?
The team also investigate the murder of a millionaire aboard his own yacht – whilst all the suspects were scuba diving on the reef below – and the untimely death of a model who was strangled in the middle of a fashion show.
The season stars Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman, Sara Martins as Camille Bordey, Danny John-Jules as Dwayne Myers, Joséphine Jobert as Officer Florence Cassell, Tobi Bakare as Officer J.P. Hooper, Élisabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey and Don Warrington as Comm. Selwyn Patterson.
The drama is produced by Red Planet Pictures and Atlantique Productions in association with BBC Worldwide and Kudos Film and Television for BBC One and France Télévisions with support from the region of Guadeloupe.
