Season 5
With eight more eager participants, Who Do You Think You Are? returns to explore the extraordinary family histories of some of the country’s most popular celebrities.
In each episode, a celebrity embarks on a personal and often emotional journey to trace their ancestry, frequently unearthing long-buried family scandals and secrets along the way.
Among this series’ celebrities are Esther Rantzen, whose family’s past includes a treacherous story of fraud, bigamy and murder, and Golders Green-born Jerry Springer, who journeys to Europe to learn more about the tragic fate of his grandmothers.
David Suchet (who plays Hercule Poirot) also features, looking to solve the riddle of why his name was changed from Suchedowitz to Suchet, and whether his father was German, Russian or Estonian.
As their inspiring stories unfold, the stars learn who they truly are, who their ancestors were, and their identity and place in history.
