The Ellen DeGeneres Show returns for its sixth season and will unveil its brand new state-of the-art studio on the Warner Bros. Studio lot while being produced and broadcast for the first time in High Definition (HD).
The show returns having just won four Daytime Emmys including Outstanding Talk Show Host for the fourth year in a row. The Ellen DeGeneres Show has earned 25 Daytime Emmy Awards since its inception in 2003.
In addition to going Hi Def, the new studio will expand the show’s studio audience by 50% to allow seating for over 300 audience members.
The audience will experience the “Ellen” pre-show lounge on the Studio lot, complete with flat screen televisions playing highlights from the show and a well-appointed environment designed for fun. This will also mark the first entertainment talk show to have tapeless technology, allowing for virtually instantaneous editing during live production.
This season, The Ellen DeGeneres Show hits the road and visits the Windy City, hosting an outdoor event in Chicago with comic legend Robin Williams. Over 5,000 audience members attended this special show.
The show also flies south for some fun in the sun in Florida at Universal Orlando Resort where the chart-topping trio the Jonas Brothers heat up the park with a live performance.
The show continues to bring even more star power this season with top guests including Michelle Obama, the Jonas Brothers, Annette Bening, Kate Hudson, Shia LaBeouf, Richard Gere and many more.
Ellen will tackle even more topical discussions of the day, allowing viewers to connect with the world through Ellen’s wide perspective on a limitless number of important issues.
The show features a diverse mix of celebrity interviews, musical performers, audience participation, and segments spotlighting everyday people with extraordinary stories and talents. From International super star David Beckham to presidential candidates, Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain. “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” continues to be a destination for the world’s biggest stars. Guests have included Will Smith, Reese Witherspoon, Heidi Klum, Justin Timberlake, Halle Berry, Ashton Kutcher, Russell Crowe and Jessica Alba, just to name a few.
In addition to celebrity interviews, the show includes chart-topping musical performers and breaking new acts.
