MH Look 2006
The annual Men's Health Look competition took place at the beginning of October 2006 and was filmed by M-Net for a half-hour TV special. It was hosted by Survivor South Africa: Panama host Mark Bayly.
In the show a panel of judges (which included Survivor SA contestant Sam Allerton, the 2005 MH Look winner) put the group of finalists to the ultimate test - strutting their stuff on the runway.
Ten finalists - five from Jo'burg, four from Cape Town and one from Durban - competed for the coveted MH Look title, with a prize of R20,000 in cash and the possibility of being featured on the cover of the magazine.
The competition was won by Kevin Tsehisi.
After being selected, all finalists spent three days in Mozambique where they were put to the test - both physically and mentally.
Activities on the adventure trip included snorkeling, a cook-off, as well as a paddle and quad orienteering experience - all this, while the judges got to know each finalist better.
Men's Health annually searches for their definition of the ultimate South African man - he is fit, lives a balanced lifestyle and is not afraid of taking risks.
Now in its seventh year, this programme rewards men who manage to balance friends, family, relationships, finance and his career while still remembering to spend time on his health and well-being.
The winner is the contestant who scores the most team and individual points, and impresses the judges with a cool head and a dash of panache which sets him apart as a worthy winner.
