Season 7
My Family is a British television sitcom created by Fred Barron and produced by DLT Entertainment and Rude Boy Productions which follows the fortunes of the Harpers, a highly dysfunctional middle-class British family.
The series aired in the UK on BBC One from 19 September, 2000 to 2 September, 2011. There are 120 episodes in 11 seasons.
My Family premiered in South Africa on SABC3 on Wednesday 1 May 2002, at 20h30. It later aired on DStv's BBC Prime channel, which became BBC Entertainment in 2008. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.
Season 7 premiered on SABC3 on Monday 25 October 2010, at 19h30. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are nine episodes in the seventh season.
Season 7
Meet the Harpers, a prefectly normal family. Or are they?
Father Ben is a dentist who'd like to see his children move out of the house as soon as possible because all he wants is peace and quiet.
His eldest son Nick - who later on in the series does move out - is a complete idiot and a no-good who can't hold on to any of the various jobs he has.
Daughter Janey is very shallow and not very picky when it comes to boys while son Michael is way too smart for Ben and doesn't feel the need to communicate much with his father.
His curious wife Susan clearly makes all the decisions in the household.
Later on in the series Ben gets an assistant at work, goofy and naive Roger, and when Janey finally moves out, no-brainer Abi moves in, while Janey keeps visiting, sometimes bringing along her little son, Kenzo.
So much for Ben's peace and quiet.
The seventh season featuring the misadventures of the dysfunctional Harper household sees Ben's ego is inflated when he is asked to be a sperm donor, only to be told his sperm are 'too lazy'.
Abi and Roger decide to marry, but when Abi has second thoughts on the big day some reassuring words from Susan finally persuade her to go through with it.
And family tensions are exposed to an audience of millions during an appearance on The Weakest Link, featuring Anne Robinson as herself.
