Season 8
Some of Mzansi's best acts turned out at our nationwide auditions this year, setting the bar higher than ever. This year offers a showcase of the depth of entertainment talent in South Africa.
Any act, any age. Those are the criteria to enter SA's Got Talent. Thousands of budding hopefuls auditioned for the chance to win the coveted title of SA's Got Talent champion for 2017, but there can be only one winner of the R500,000 prize.
The three judges will decide on who makes it through to the final live rounds of the show by means of voting between them. 21 chosen acts will then take part in the live semi-finals; 7 in each semi-final.
Once the live semi-final rounds take place, the judges will select one act to go to the finale along with one other act decided by public SMS vote. There will be six finalists in the finale, with the winner decided by public SMS vote.
Transmission day is Sunday at 18h05 on e.tv and eHD on OpenView HD. The semi-finals have their live results on the same night at 19h30. The finale also has live results at 19h30 on the same night.
The season premiere sees acts from around South Africa taking centre stage and bringing more than just a voice. Judges DJ Fresh, Shado Twala and Jamie Bartlett have a tough time critiquing talent and have some tough decisions to make in terms of who can progress to the later rounds as a variety of top-quality acts deliver hair-raising performances – and some talents we've never seen before on the show.
SA's Got Talent is executive produced by Kee-Leen Irvine for Rapid Blue. The Got Talent franchise is a British TV format conceived and owned by Simon Cowell's SYCO company.
