Channel O has announced that comedian David Kau will host the Channel O Spirit of Africa Music Video Awards, to be held at Gallagher Estate in Midrand on Sunday 15 October.
Kau, who is described as the only 100 percent BEEC – Black Economic Empowerment Comedian - shot to fame in the early 2000's, MCing various corporate functions.
He has performed at the country's top comedy show cases like the "Heavyweight Comedy Jams", the "Kingsize Comedy" shows as well as MCing at the highly successful "Blacks Only" comedy festival for three years.
He recently performed 10 sold out shows at The Tesson Theatre at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre.
According to Kau he's going to pull out all the stops: "I am very happy to be part of the Awards this year and it will be nothing like I have done before," he said.
"All the African artists won't want to go back home after the awards - they will all be buying apartments in Hillbrow."
Kau will be assisted by the Channel O VJs who will be presenting the different awards in the 19 categories.

Melody Zulu, Pat Cash from Kaya FM and Lee Kasumba from YFM.
The Awards ceremony will be held at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg on Sunday 15 October.
The event will be recorded "live" and broadcast on Channel O on Sunday, 22 October at 20h00 CAT.
