Is it just me or is generations missing the point? Just a while back, The Dlomos were gettin married for Siyabonga. Their marriage was based on the child, right? things were not working out between them because the only thing that forced them to be together was the fact that they had made a baby.
That was supposed to present to us, viewers, that they are two people who care very much about family and raising children in stable homes.
Four weeks down the line, they are divorcing on the condition that they make another baby.
I've said it before in my comments that at Generations, it is decided this week what will happen next week. So, the whole yereyere of stupid catfights was only put on the script because mdala Mvundla happened to log onto TVSA and realised that us the viewers are complaining about how things were not happening.
[PS: For that, he actually owes us credits. How about a line that says : Curtesy of TVSA bloggers at the end of every episode, coz it's quite obvious we write the damn story. And our logo nogal... They might as well do it like that show ya Tumisho Masha (konje, what happened to it?) ...... they should have a "guide the storyline" competition.]
It gives one the feeling that this story is guided by the actors' personal lives. If Sonia Mbele decides to take leave next week, all of a sudden the story will be driven towards her taking a holiday to London. Like, we all know Sonia is preggies hey, that must be the reason sis Karabs is no longer her mourning self and they decided to make ntombi Sleep with Ngamla so that when her tummy starts to show, they'd say it's Sbuda's fault. Poor Sbu, when Connie Masilo was preggies it was blamed on his drunken one-night stand. Today because Mrs Sedibe is pregnant, the whole script had to be changed to support that.
Lets take an example from Isidingo.....For instance, Cherel will always be Barker's ex who killed his son, shot his daughter, is pregnant with his daughter's exman's baby. The two of them will always hate each other and fight oko oko. Lee will also always be out to seek revenge when it comes to Cherel. Believe me, that will stay that way, because Isidingo has built their characters.
Unlike Gen where characters change nature everyday. It's always like they've forgotten what they were or what they've done previously. There's no such thing in generations as someone behaving a certain way because of their past, or anything like that. Why is this self-acclaimed "mzansi's most watched" soapie done so poorly?
At Isidingo, when they say someone is going to Iceland or to Roodepoort, they take them to that place, we see them acting from that place, but with Gen even "the view" from Ngamla's balcony is a piece of paper....
So, what do you think, Bloggers, should they close shop, or should they give it to public, once and for all?
