The docu show Encounters tonight on SABC 1 touched on the topic of all men’s dreams: Boobs; the look, shape, size, feel, cultural and traditional beliefs… What makes them sag? What is an appropriate look?
I caught the show late, AGAIN!! To make matters worse; this week SABC 1 saved by not typing those show reminders after the commercial so I could only derive it is Encounters but missed the whole title/topic! When I switched to it; Nolitha was chatting to a lady I assume is her mother on how she feels about her boobs. Her perception of her breasts; comments made in the past about her breasts being shaped like pears, her hate of the fruit because of this likeness, her maid accusing her of sleeping around because of the shape of her boobs and the pain she has carried around because of all this! Her mothers comment to make her feel better when she was crying was so typical “my ma”; I just loved her! She said something along the lines of “I am really sorry you carried all this hurt. But at least it helped you make a movie!” Ha ha ah!
The show then moved to the comparison of how different generations view breasts; back then (the old and flashers versus the young and clothed!) Old ladies belief that women’s boobs must touch or otherwise something is not right; did not sit with me well! One “Elder” even said if there is a space that accommodates 3 fingers between boobs; there is something not right, at least 2 fingers are acceptable. This made me feel extremely sad and miserable. My boobs are facing opposite directions and a full hand can fit between them. I have mentioned on my previous Oh! article replies last week that I was a psychological virgin as I was abused when I was young; Does this mean that the result of the shape of my boobs tell everyone!? How cruel is that?!! A constant reminder that I was not a pure child, even though it wasn’t my fault and I could not have stopped what happened to me! How many others had to deal with this same issue and actually have these kind of boobs?
The brave Transkei Teenager that told us how she loves the feel of her boyfriend touching and caressing her boobs left me speechless! I know I have disclosed a lot about myself on TVSA – but I am still an anonymous writer! Same difference, I guess! But I would not have bravely stood in front of a camera in my teens and told the world about my sex life; I will never tell even now!
Virginity and the shape of the breasts kept coming up, over and over again. Elders kept referring to how breasts are desirable only in marriage. Does the breast lose it’s sensuality and beauty when you are not a virgin? How? Anyway, one of the elders in Bholokodlela decided to show us her shriveled up boobs! Ok, grandma – Old and flashing! Great!
Siyanda, Nositha’s best friend – the purity of a girl and the shape compared to a mountain!
Mpho, boyfriend’s view – Was interviewed and explained his attraction to Nolitha. He was attracted to her “naturalness”! It was hilarious watching her bare it all when she interviewed him. When she undressed and asked his opinion on her boobs, I was ROFL! He admitted to have taken a good long look at them for some time! I kept thinking the poor guy has such a hard-on right now! When they switch the camera off; they will have steamy sex!!! Ha ha ha! Dirty mind! He admitted to loving her and his ability to being able to have motivational talks with her is a great experience. He couldn’t have motivational talks with her breatsts! She asked if he could be honest enough, WTF? He had just poured his heart out about how perfect she is! He should have just said “you have an issue, deal with it!” I miss MaxiVanilla – he had a way of putting the words just perfect for such events on his ANTM articles.
A reference was made on how mother’s comment about their daughter’s boobs develops their perception about their boobs – My ma never said a word about mine!! She has small boobs – Size A cup – but my dad’s sisters have those humungous boobs – Size DD to E cup. I always knew that if the size of my boobs would be hereditary; I don’t want either of their boobs. My ma struggles to find tops that shape those boobs; my aunt complains that they hurt her back! And God heard me; I am a nice Comfortable C cup.
Nolitha has bad insight about Breastfeeding! She visited a friend of hers who has a child to interview. All I thought of was the friend is gonna tell her about Cracked nipples! Every woman who has a child may experience this painful, painful nipple flaw. I did! The traditional remedies are so disgusting but work! I guess for those who are interested will have to wait for my article on my little miracles blog to find out. Anyways, I loved breastfeeding! I loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Nolitha has an issue about the boobs sagging after breastfeeding – she discussed this with Mpho, her boyfriend during the topless interview! Mpho’s comment that they are there for that purpose made me feel like shouting “Thank Gaad! He gets it!” They are not just there to entertain men, they are there for procreation- Mammary glands!!
During her interview with the PE teens they mentioned The Bible; the temple verse! Your body is your temple – I really would like to scream on top of the Table mountain that people do not have to quote the Bible on that verse ever again… My issue!
Nolitha’s admitted her happiness is in the size of her boob cup – her perfect size is a C cup! *shaking head* Her confidence level will be perked up if she has this boob size! She even considered silicone enlargement! There goes her naturalness! THE element of what her man admitted to being what attracted to her! *sigh* And some men have C Cup Moobs (as named in a Cosmo article); Male boobs! They aren’t looking to cutting them; they actually love them! Ha ha ah
The show got weird when she was chatting to her parents -Why is she blaming her parents for her choice or decision to give away her virginity? How did they drive her to make a decision she regrets because she figures they bear the responsibility for what she decided to do?
I loved her poem at the end! Perfect ending to a great show! Whoever came up with the concept of Encounters – Ke go rolela kuane! (I take my hat off for you!) Much respect!
