After all the controversy surrounding the awarding of the national lottery licence to Gidani, the Lotto finally returned to South Africa on Friday with more than 200,000 tickets sold in the first three hours.
Once again it will be e.tv who hosts the live lotto draw, as well as a brand new Lotto game show which will air directly after the draw, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
e.tv will broadcast the new Lotto game show – Raise Your Game – every Wednesday night at 21h30, straight after the live lotto draw. The show goes to air for the first time on Wednesday 17 October.
e.tv will also broadcast the Saturday live Lotto draw at 21h30, starting with the first draw on Saturday 13 October.
Raise Your Game will be hosted by Nimrod Nkosi and former Miss South Africa Vanessa Carreira. During the show, six contestants will compete over four rounds for the weekly grand prize of R300,000.
Each game will be based on the lotto numbers, one to 49, with contestants being eliminated each round – until the last contestant is left to play for the R300,000 jackpot.
No-one walks away empty-handed as each eliminated contestant wins a prize.
