HE IS SOOOO....CONVINCING!!!
Does it only happen to me or does it happen to everybody who's a movie fanatic like me? That you go in expecting something but come out totally blown over by something you didnt really expect. You know, like going in to the cimena expecting to see this really scary movie but only to find out that the movie is not as good as its trailer but umsangano nje. This happened to me this Wednesday. My editor sent us (me and my collegues) an invitation to see the preview of "the kingdom". I scrolled down the invite wanting to see who stars in it, and the first word i saw was Jennifer Garner. IM A HUGE FAN OF HERS!! So i quickly replied to my editor to have the movie reviewed by me and I was dead set in reviewing Garner's acting skill rather than all the cast.
But as I sat there watching the movie, JAMIE FOXX just slapped me in the face and demanded my attention. I must be truthfull I have never liked Jamie BEFORE. His Jamie Foxx show totally bored me and always took me to sleepy land everytume i tried to watch it. I thought he was triying very hard to be a comedian and it just didnt suit him. I think he came to realise this himself because he has done three if not 4 amazing movies....namely Collateral, Miami Vice (my favourite) and of course the one he won an Oscar for Ray. I must say in this movie Jamie just won me as his number 1 fan, his acting was so convincing that in the most parts i had tears in my eyes. Also he oozes confidence and i can safely say that this is the action-thriller of the year 2007, i just dont see any other movie beating it. Unless of course if the bias thing still exist in Hollywood where movies dont win any awards if the leading actor is BLACK.
HERE ARE THE SNEAK PREVIEW NOTES IN MY WORDS:
When a terrorist bomb goes off inside a Western housing compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an international caos resumes. While diplomats slowly debate equations of territorialism, FBI Special Agent Ronald Fleury quickly assembles an team and negotiates a secret five-day trip into Saudi Arabia to locate the madman known as Abu Hamza, who is behind the bombing. Upon landing in the desert "kingdom", Fleury and his team discover Saudi authorities suspicious and unwelcoming of Americans into what they consider a local matter. Hamstrung by protocol-and with the clock ticking on their five days-the FBI agents find their expertise worthless without the trust of their Saudi counterparts, who want to locate the terrorist in their homeland on their own rules. Fleury's crew finds a like-minded partner in Saudi Colonel Al-Ghazi, who helps them navigate royal politics and unlock the secrets of the crime scene and the workings of an extremist cell bent on further destruction. With these unlikely allies sharing a propulsive commitment to crack the case, the team is led to the killer's front door in a blistering do-or-die confrontation. Now in a fight for their own lives, strangers united by one mission won't stop until justice is found in "The Kingdom".
So guys, if you are an action-thriller movie lover than go and see this one its A MUST SEE!! Even if you not, there is no bloody scenes which can make a sensitive view puke. Only sad ones where the terrorist bombs the American and there are no fliying hands thanx God!
Jamie might just win another Oscar for this one, mark my words.
Peace Out.
