Who are we without them, they shape and form a large part of our lives and personalities. Where are we without them? No, its not men, it’s our families.
And in Africa they play a big role in our daily lives, even at the work place. How?
You know mos when you give yourself a long weekend, then you come back to work and say you were at your mother’s great aunts cousin’s funeral. Yep family in Africa is BIG! Whether your direct family is small, there is extended family. Some are lovely, others frustrating or just plain odd!
But you gotta love ‘em!
Famous TV families
The
Days of our Lives is one of the oldest soapies around, it has a strong sense of family. The main ones being the
Horton’s and the
Brady’s, where they grew up together and end up marrying each other, only to discover that the person they married is not who they are, just a clone of Stefano DiMera. Hayi, it’s too confusing to explain.
The
Forrester’s and the
Spectra’s of the
Bold and the Beautiful, feuding fashionistas and the
Logan’s, represented by Brooke, ever eager to open her legs as long is it serves her purpose.
On Mzantsi territory, we have the mighty
Morokas, the only surviving member being the very tragic old spinster Karabo (lets shed a tear!)
In
Horizon Deep we have the
Matabanes, who to much frustration to some TVSA bloggers just won’t leave Vusi Moletsane’s house. I always say the more, the merrier, and Vusi must bring his family to help chase these Matabanes to the low cost council housing.
We have the
Haynes, who had a recent addition with Dineyo, Barker’s long lost beloved daughter and shadow. This high and mighty family has been brought down to its knees by the unforgettable Cherel (Cruela) DeVilliers.
Did you notice if you play a villain your surname will be De Villiers, Anne (Generabbish) cousin of Cherel, descendent of Cruela DeVille (101 Dalmatians).
And not to forget abakwa
Sibiya down the road in
Zone 14.
Who are some of your favourite TV families, both in Mzantsi and overseas?
Which TV family would you like to be part of?
Do you have a weird family like mine; are you weird because of them like me? Do you want to tell someone, like me? Any weird stories?
Does your family resemble any family from a TV show, or book?
Should your family have its own TV show, what would it be called?
The Osbournes? The Spears should make a reality programme, and the Jacksons!
The Sono’s and Motaung’s, the Motsepe’s and Mabuza-Suttle’s.
Family can’t live with them, can’t live without them!
