NedBank Cup Round-up
This week it was the first round of the Nedbank cup “ ke Yona”. The were a few upsets but the biggest upset of the week was seeing
Pirates bowing out on penalties against Santos after they came back from two goals behind, All I am going to say is when it comes to loosing in cup games we are used to it but it must come to an end. We lost 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw. The other big two are through to the second round,
Chiefs beat Ajax on Friday night 2-0 in what was a brilliant game from the Amakhosi, they have really turned the corner for me, Well done Amakhosi.
Sundowns won the Tshwane Derby against SSU 2-1, I always thought that Downs were playing well they were just unlucky not to most games they played.
Supa14 results
This was a good and bad week for SA teams in the Supa14, the Stromers started the proceedings very well by beating Chiefs, they really played well with a total of 12 turnover breakdowns. Their next assignment is against the high flying Crusaders, if they pull it then they are in with a good chance. The Crusaders crushed the Cheetahs, the I nothing much that I can say besides that they were pathetic. The high flying Sharks beat the A&G lions at Eliis Park in a water locked pitch, the Sharks are second on the log and all South Africans are putting their hope on them. The biggest upset was when The Reds demolished the Blue Bulls, this was one game I thought the Bulls were going to win easily.
Lewis wins in style
The Fromula-1 started with a bang and it was Hammilton who won the first race in Australia, this was after a couple of mistakes from the defending Champ Kimi whom I was supporting, At one stage he was at position 3 and that is when I thought we were in with a chance but he made a blunder trying to overtake Kav Lewis’s teammate. It is going to be an interesting season. Alonso finished at four after a brilliant last two laps.
Proteas off to IndiaThe Proteas are off to India after winning every game against Bangladesh, Graeme Smith was man of the series in the ODI’s, with the form he is in we are all hoping he does his best in India where it is not going to be easy. Nel was left out of the squad to India which ofcourse he was not pleased and so was I.
