Mother's day is coming up in the month of May and I want us to celebrate, thank and pay tribute to the people who not only gave birth to us but moulded us into the people we are today.
Every year when they (tv, mags, shops etc) start advertising Mother's Day, a sad feeling overcomes me because 13 years ago I lost my mother to cancer just a few days before i could give her a mother's day card i had made myself - to show her how much i love her.
This is an opportunity for you mabloggers to thank not only our biological mothers but other remarkable women who give motherly love (in whatever form) to those in need. We know there are women who arent blessed with children but who do their best in giving love & care to orphans or even give support to children with parents who cant give that kind of support (in whatever manner).
I'll start by thanking five women who've each played a big & important role in my life.To my mother - thank you mom for giving me life and bringing me to this earlth & loving me when you were still here, i will cherish the moments we've had together for as long as i live. My late grandmother - Thank you mamKwayi for raising me and teaching me right from wrong - i am the person i am today becos of you. My 2 aunts - Both of you are blessings from God, i dont know where i'd be if you two werent here or if you didnt have such beautiful hearts. My friend, mentor & former boss - thank you so very much for believing in me and giving a chance to enter the corporate world, holding my hand and offering your shoulder when the road got tough. YOu went an extra mile when you didnt have to. I hope God blesses you & your family.
Now i know these people wont see this blog but let us take this opportunity to say what we dont normally tell them and say 'thank you'.
Fire away mabloggers
