On Carte Blanche this Sunday 7 September 2008:

Bittersweet Chatsworth

The use of “sugars”, a mixture of residue cocaine and heroin, added to talcum powder and household detergents, is taking hold in Chatsworth, south of Durban.

Carte Blanche questions why dealers, openly selling this cheap, contaminated drug, have no fear of the police and are becoming more and more brazen in their take-over of the streets.

Presenter: Devi Sankaree Govender
Producer: Nguni Productions

CB20: Tools For Life

With only 14 ICU beds for premature babies at Bloemfontein Academic Hospital, those who don’t come into the world fighting fit face a battle to survive.

Carte Blanche looks at neo-natal needs in the Free State where the show's raising millions for the “beds of hope” campaign.

Presenter: Derek Watts
Producer: Ashleigh Hamilton

Ons Vir Jou

It’s set to open at the South African State Theatre next week, but already the Boer War musical “Ons Vir Jou” has made melkterts curdle. Penned by co-writers of the controversial hit “De la Rey”, it’s directed by Deon Opperman, who says he’s tired of watching Afrikaner history being destroyed and discarded. Carte Blanche finds out what all the fuss is about.

Presenter: Derek Watts
Producer: Adri Kotze

Percy Montgomery

Percy Montgomery, with his floppy blonde locks, has become an unlikely legend. Carte Blanche gets up-close-and-personal with Percy who earned his first Springbok cap in 1997 and now, over 100 test appearances later, has decided to hang up his boots.

Presenter: Derek Watts
Producer: Joy Summers

Carte Blanche's on M-Net on Sundays at 19h00.
