e.tv Launches Primetime Zulu And Sotho News

e.tv's announced the launch of a new Primetime Zulu and Sotho combo news bulletin. Premiering on Monday, 15 September at 18h00 the half-hour bulletin will be broadcast Mondays to Fridays and will include national, international, business, sports, human interest stories and weather.

Bronwyn Keene-Young, e.tv’s chief operating officer says, "The launch of the Zulu and Sotho bulletins at 18h00 ... provides Zulu and Sotho speaking South Africans the opportunity to watch eNews in their home languages.”

eNews 6pm will be anchored in Sotho by Segametsi Moiloa, who viewers will recognise from e's breakfast show Sunrise.

Broadcast journalist Mabutho Ngcobo, two-time winner of the National Vodacom Journalist of the year award for the Best Radio Feature, will anchor the Zulu segment.

that could be annoying if you understand only one of the languages. You'll always get to hear half the news.

Zulu and Sotho combo: Once again languages like (Xhosa, Pedi, Tsonga, afrikaans etc) arent considered when e-tv finally decides to include other "south African official languages" on the map. Why is it always Zulu and Sotho, mnxmmmm. I am proud of South African, her children and her languages, but I just hate this norm that Zulu and Sotho, especially Zulu should come first. Jusliekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

@Cande-C mon now, they have the other news in English mos, and Zulu's and Sotho are different from the rest of us bcoz????????????????????

What about my grandmother, who loves TV so much but speaks and understand Afrikaans only, with a little bit of Xhosa, shame on her she has no place ku e-tv.

Well done E, I don't know why some ppl get worked up about the Zulu and Sotho news, we still have SABC which is favoured by those old grannies of yours. What if the SOtho and Zulu is introduced because Zulu's are the most viewed as illiterate of them all?

It is very difficult to satisfy everyone if you have only one station, they unlike SABC which have 3 . Imagine if they broadcast news in 10/11 different languages, that means some ppl will only watch once after 11 days, hhayi kahleni, SABC1 rocks news in Zulu, Xhosa, Swati, S'ndebele, and two rocks it in Afrikaans, Shangan am not sure if there is Venda too.
