Forensics Stellenbosch student Inge Lotz died more than three years ago, but the mystery of who killed her lingers on. Although her boyfriend Fred van der Vyver was acquitted of her murder, litigation is far from over.
Lotz’s parents have brought a civil action against Fred and he, in turn, is suing the state for wrongful arrest. Carte Blanche goes to an international forensics conference in the US, where the SAPS alleged fabrication of evidence was a major talking point.
