After weeks of training the day came... Thursday night 2nd October 2008... was indeed one great night!
So for the first night we ( the ladies ) did a group dance, the salsa, which was just fine by me as I don`t think I would have survived a solo dance. oh, the pressure, especially since my choreography totally left me in the beginning stages of the salsa! I blame it on my sisters (Unathi, Tembisa and Zamalisa ) for making such a racket from the audience that I lost all concentration.
Okay that is my story and i'm sticking to it.
No major problems with my memory loss though, came back and two judges, Salome and Dave, said I was great; I think it was the dress colour... When in doubt, be bright, I always say !
Brendan (my dance partner ) did not kill me though. I promised him that I would never forget my dance moves, I have every intention of keeping that promise. unlike my promise to Grant (my co-host on the lunchtime show on 5fm). The plan was for me to drop the word 'bully beef ' during the live broadcast of scd! If I do not I owe a charity R1000 I am now R1000 in the red.
Let's hope this week goes better, can they not give me a simple word like cha- cha? Speaking cha cha that is the style for our first solo dances this week. Watch out for it … and here is to me remembering my steps!
Thursday Night Half seven SABC 2, tune in!
Oh and please send invites to weddings so I can practice my moves all the time -
