Oh I have such a crush on Eric Miyeni (nee Myeni). It's one of those that won’t go away, like the one I still have on Hlomla. I listen to Eric on SA-Fm (Eric M After Dark) and I find him so intriguing. Gosh he’s got all the qualities I want in a man, he’s handsome, versatile, well spoken, opinionated, passionate and sometimes stubborn. On the show he comes off as nonchalant, like throw anything at me and I can handle it – and boy can he. Some people say he’s an angry black man, I just think he feels strongly about a lot of issues. In his own words “I’m not angry, says Eric. But the one thing that sets me off is unfairness and people who are unfair” I decided to research him, and write about him, in case there was anyone else who feels him as much as I do.Eric is an accomplished actor, radio show host, business man and publisher (or is it author). He’s starred in Molo Fish, Bopha as well as Cry the Beloved Country. He had a short stint on (or is it at) SA-Fm in 2004 where he was fired after 4 months. The reasons were that he was a time bomb – he had too many surprises on the show (which were unwelcome by management) His argument was that how can you have a live show without an element of surprise, how then do you keep it interesting? Basically SABC wanted to regulate him, and he was not having that. But he’s back at SA-fm, I wonder on whose terms?
Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm....shem jsut looking at him DOES it for me...

Eric has also written two books – the highly successful O’Mandingo! The Only Black at the Dinner Party – I loved this book. Everyone needs to have a copy. Click here for one of his thought provoking articles. His second book is O’Mandingo! Before Mandela was Mandela. Has anyone read it? What did you think?
Eric is also a partner and the creative director of communications company, Chillibush.
He seems to be a solid black man, one I’d be proud to take to my mama. I can’t seem to find anything on his love life; I’ve heard a rumour that he was/is dating a white chick. If that is true…all I can say is “Such talent, wasted”
