Zuma and Motlanthe - Birds of a feather?

Written by Dimago from the blog Some food for thought on 05 Feb 2009
Favourite this post

When my favourite president was recalled, Kgalema Motlanthe gave me some hope that there are still decent politicians out there. I held the man in high regard. But after this stunt (cheating on his wife with multiple women) I’m not sure where I stand with him. I guess the HIV message has not registered in any of these people (politicians). Why do our politicians have such irresponsible sexual behaviour? We all took a swipe at Zuma when he had sex with an HIV positive woman, then took a shower. Motlanthe has just impregnated a 24yr old girl; has possibly broken the heart of a 45 year old woman (she left her husband of 17 years – presumably for the president). Clearly he’s been sleeping with both women, and for the 24 yr old to fall pregnant means precautions are not as high on his agenda as Zimbabwe is.

KM
Yummy old man with questionable morals

We already have such a big problem with HIV in our country, now when our leaders don’t do their part to promote a healthy sexual lifestyle, what’s that teaching not only our children but our society. I can just hear South African men using both Zuma and Motlanthe to justify their behaviour. I’m very disappointed at these two leaders, and as a result, if any of them are candidates for presidency, I’m not casting my vote for their party.

KZM
Motlanthe and Zuma probably sharing tips on how to prevent HIV

Maybe Obama needs to start a school for future presidents, and South Africans really need to attend.

Ke lame leo!

I wouldn take it that far - its still early days, he is trying to please everyone at the moment and look intelligent when in actual fact if you studied economics you would fail to understand his $800 million stimulas package

I agree with you Cande. I understand him (motlante) wanting to keep his personal life private but we deserve to know. We are feeding and clothing her mos.

I I'm particualry sick of politicians not answering our question but they still want us to vote for them. How many questions has Zuma been asked and he has avoided answering them or he has hidden behind the collective( ANC's NEC)?

The government is saying that the youth should abstain, condomise or stick to 1 partner. What message is he sending by haveing so many wives. Does he expect us to believe that he uses condoms with all of them? And normally married couples dont use condoms unless the woman is not on the pill.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Beyonce - there is something called MOB PSYCOLOGY which is a very real state of mind, perfect example:

(sos dimags) many of the SS in Hilters camp where NORMAL individuals who would not have been easily influenced but ended up being influenced by a sadist, lunatic .....what ever other name you wanna add who get this WAS NOT EVEN A GERMAN by birth or had the traits of HIS (HILTER) so called  "perfect race" ie blond hair an blue eyes - but they all followed him and they wer all influenced to do the worst possible kin dof things you can not even begin to imagine......then guess what.......they thought there is poor and uncivilsed Africa lets go there and show them "perfectionism" and get rich how many followed?

men here can do teh same, its coming from the top - what is on top - ALWAYS slides down if you dont clean it up...the state of mind "if my leader can do and get away with it - mara whata bout me"

Asa parent it is your respondibility to teach your child, it is not the media's. If you fail dont blame other pople for that.

We need to focus on our lives and things that build us.

Research claims that "controlled" kids spend up to 1000hrs in front of the TV, 90% of your kids time is spent in skool where 50% of social education and enlightment is taught and exposed....you can try to avoid the media but you will not succeed

Train up a child in the way it should go and it will not depart from it 100% correct,

BUT once that child becomes of age where it makes its own decisions - thats between them and God. As a parent you have little or no influence over them (reality - no matter how much you talk about it, the more that thing you dont want to happen, happens and once an "adult" the more strong willed they become)

Each person (incl. young, old, middle aged, adolescent) in their OWN eyes (not mama or papa's) THINKS they are RIGHT. (whether or not they are)

Thats why even you as a Christain (assuming) need constant hearing of the WORD of God so you know the WILL of God

Another thing is that if it were a woman doing this;  I doubt you answers would be the same, and you know why? that's because of what society has made us believe. It's okay for a man to cheat; and a disgrace for a woman to cheat.

Morning bloggers……a stupid question……The stories about our care-taker president written on this article are they facts or ludicrous fabrications???? If they are facts can someone refer me to a statement released by the Presidency confirming these stories? I know the shower story is a fact because JZ confirmed it to the public when he was on trial that he took a shower after having sex with an HIV positive woman……

Also those that are talking about their tax being used to pay for the first lady (hayi shame ininzi mos imali eniyibhatalayo for le tax yenu, or should I say the R1000 rand a month that some people pay for tax does a lot, feeds the poor, build houses, pays the presidency, pays for your grandmother’s pension, pays for food of your cousin in jail..etc)….eish sorry I got carried away….My question was to those that are talking about “their” tax and first lady……if you are really interested to know who your first lady is, pick up a phone, phone the presidency office and ask to speak to the spousal office, once you are transferred there….ask for the name of the first Lady….I’m sure you’ll me given a name….If NOT…..then you can stand on Top of Table Mountain and demand to be given the first-lady’s name. Until you do that, then you can complain about not knowing your first lady (as if knowing her will get you a R1 salary increase)…..

Now everyone is up in arms about stories written by tabloids……..that no one has confirmed if they are true or not……Dimago can you please give me a reference on where I can read about what is written here, or do you know these ladies????

Humble apologies if these are true……(I’m apologizing in case the President confirms the rumours on his state of the nation address)

Oops i nearly forgot.....Morning Bloggers....its god to be back on TVSA.....i missed all of you....

And as a leader, one must lead by example cos when u do wrong ur followers wil fba tla yetsa da same! Kriselda kananda also mentioned gore it wont make sense to the public if she had to fall pregos and when asked how she did it cos she is +, reply by saying it is none of the public's business. All this poeple not voting for a party because the leader is less than perfect is reminding me of america ipmitching their president just because he got a blow job only to replace him with one that blew the countrys economy. I still dont understand what a person is doing in their private time impacts on his running the country. I would understand if people said they will not vote because of hte party itself not just an indivisual and not voting seems so childish for me its like sulking at a person who does not even notice u r sulking. Maybe voting for the next best party will be better than to stay away altogether.

Mabhebheza that must answer your question. Even if JZ has izithembu he has cheated on them. He is not supposed to have sex other than the women he calls his wives.
I WILL VOTE AND I WILL COMPLAIN IF THINGS ARE NOT GOING WELL!!!!

And I say again, if we had a female president doing such things, we would all be up in arms shouting form the rooftops of how immoral she is. And what makes me mad, is that US women will be the first to point fingers. The very same women who are saying it's okay to do what these men are doing as long as it doesn't change the price of bread. No wonder SA has the highest HIV/AIDS rate. Our leaders are teaching us to take showers after having sex. Maybe we won't catch the virus.  WE teach MEN to cheat on us and get away with it, so stop crying foul when it happens. DEAL with it because you are giving him the rght to do that.

No wonder SA has the highest HIV/AIDS rate

SA is the most accomodating country, we have more than a million people from other countries living in SA, some by right and some by chance. When they check the statistics of people living with the virus, they check which country are they living in NOT the country they were born/from, so maybe just maybe as much as we SA ppl have the virus but it is not certain that other pps from other countries living here dont have it and that will actual add on out Stats.

We must just exercise our right where our confidence is ... if you dont trust a certain leader then dont vote for him, no one is forcing anyone to vote for a certain individual .... YOUR vote is Your secret.

This is the last state of the nation address for me the next one will be after the 2014 elections...hopefully it will be by a very dignified president, in my books

Dimago
06 Feb 2009 11:31

@realist, according to the speaker of parliament; the state of the nation address was initially scheduled for the 3rd of Feb, but KM was not going to be available. It was then moved to today, but Tbos had prior plans. So its not snubbing according to her

@Dimago: Was this the nations address or the state of the nation? I am not sure because Luthuli house seems to be calling the shots and dictating what KM should say. Personally what matters most to me is what Trevor Manuel is going to say.

Anyway thanks for the clarity, I now get it.

I think it is the Sunday times. Dimago is correct, according to the newspaper article it was said two women were involved and it is reported that he is divorced from his wife. Personally I do not believe anything coming from the print media.

Remember they always say it is in the best interest of the public. My foot it is in the best interest of the public. If you paid for that newspaper then it is not in the best interest of the public but in the best interest of their readers.

I haven't read the whole article, bear with me if I repeat any mentioned statements.

Over the weekend, I asked my man while he was reading the sunday paper that " are we really interested in who the president is bedding, as for me I careless, the only thing I need is delivery kwaphela qha...........ubufebe obukanoma ngubani.

On the HIV part................go to Jozi town..........you will pass through to more than a thousand of woman, all pregnant. I am not sure if it still exist( aids)

And I came into realisation today that I don't know the deputy president of the country.......what does that mean ? DISASTER, but I erge you all ma South Africans, let us give the opposition parties the powers. There are many things that had happened and we the public never liked them, and yes the opposition parties had the strong workable points but because the MAJORITY is NANDOS and they don't have much to say, the decisons were made.
I mean the recalling of the President and the Disband of Scorpions.

cha cha cha its not dimago's fault, as she clearly stated last week that she was just saying what she had read in the papers....surely most of us  read these allegations...

mjj
08 Feb 2009 14:41

i think people missed the plot.....Dimago didn't write last weeks stories on newspapers BUT she made certain allegations and she made certain decisions based on reports that were not proved to be truthful.....

Decisions:

I held the man in high regard. But after this stunt (cheating on his wife with multiple women) I’m not sure where I stand with him. I guess the HIV message has not registered in any of these people (politicians). Why do our politicians have such irresponsible sexual behaviour?

Allegation:

Clearly he’s been sleeping with both women, and for the 24 yr old to fall pregnant means precautions are not as high on his agenda as Zimbabwe is......

Then again the flip side of the story is, what if all the 3 newspapers were lying about the woman's new stories??????

Sometimes we should reflect b4 reacting....Hayi its sunday why am i wasting my energy on Politics?????

08 Feb 2009 21:29

I told myself I wouldn't comment last week and I still don't want to say much but.. If my President is running my country properly (delivery of services etc) then I don't care what he does with his willy.

1. Sex and politics go together like peanut butter and jam. Therefore, politicians (especially males) are always up for a bit of hanky panky and not particularly with their wives. That's what power (and the availability of women who know what to do in-order to get ahead rapidly) does to you. These guys regardless of political affiliation all do it, the trick is to be discreet or to at least choose classy women who won't blab about it to their friends or the media.

2. If you're a politician there's always someone who's trying to shaft you (just as you'll have bootlickers) so people will create stories, bring "dirty" aspects of your private life to the public in-order to discredit you. Conspiracies and smear campaigns do exist.

All I'm trying to say is that we mustn't believe everything we read in the media because the media houses have people who own them, run them and who have their own agendas too.

We (as the public) also need to stop getting hysterical over political sex scandals and realise that extra-marital affairs are part of the daily political life. The French  (Francois Mitterand, Nicholas Sarkozy) and the Italians (Bellusconi) etc can teach us a bit about this. Yes we're still "young in our democracy" but let's remember that politicians by virtue of being politicians will be slightly shady and "immoral" individuals. They need to be like that to survive in their job. If we want Saints for our leaders then we're in deep trouble. This also goes for politics and corruption too by the way.

Uxolo for da blog within a blog.
