I don't know if it's his sarcastic nature, his boyish grin or baby soft skin (lol) but there's something about Gareth Cliff that makes him so damn irresistible! He's not Wentworth Miller or Orlando Bloom mara yho....mina ngiy'mthanda shem....especially when he says "Msholozi" lol.
Enuff about Gareth, he doesn't need votes anyway....
Having attended the IDOLS Top 10 Spectacular and observed the kinda people that attended, I have to agree, Ntsepa & Thembi have no chance of winning Idols. Yes, it probably has a lot do with race but also, the spectacular was open to everyone, mara there could not have been more than 30-40 black people in that theatre!
So, why do we (the jhb based black people that are complaining about Idols being racist) expect white people to cheer, support and vote for the black contestants?
It's not even about money now coz the tickets are only R40.
Idols is all about what viewers/voters prefer and in my opinion, people vote for someone whose CD they'll buy so why should Piet van Vuuren vote for Ntsepa when he would not buy her album? He would not buy her album because Ntsepa will record a genre she's comfortable with... say...Afro Pop maybe?
How many white people do you think bought Zamajobe's album?
Ummm...actually, make that "how many white people would enjoy her album?"
If a show's about votes then it's not about the BEST, it's about which contestant the viewers PREFER and we all know that the majority of MNET viewers are white and the majority of those white viewers prefer the kind of music that say...Cameron or Jason perfoms than the kind sung by Thembi.
That's just how it is, let's not get worked up over something so obvious. My thinking might be flawed but the bottom line is that as much as I like Ntsepa & Thembi, I'm not voting because my votes will NOT keep them in the show long enough for them to get in the finals. The other contestants have way too much support.
Lendel is good but he's not IDOLS good so I hope fairness rules and he leaves tonight because his rendition of (my) Lady Soul was only made "nice" by the band....
Ntsepa rocks man and I absolutely love her personality! The woman has got star quality and I really hope this Idols experience will open doors for her in the industry.
As for the presenter, Ms Lizel "Yaris" van der-Something, I hope she finds something else to "make fun of" coz I told Ntsepa not to do that stupid Tsipa Tsipa thing again!
(I was LMAO when Lendel was saying that since the competition his Facebook has gone crazy and he's got about 300 Friends Request lol. I was like dude, I'm not on Idols but I've got double the number pending hehehehhe)
Graeme owns the stage!! Watching him up there was marvellous, I loved his confidence & movements on the stage but for some reason it distracted me from hearing what he was singing....
Graeme says his confidence on the stage comes from his background as an actor.....oh well, you sure did act like you were Justin Timberlake baby! too nice!
Oh Cameron...he's only 18 years old but he sang that Old Time Rock n Roll song like he was a man after my heart!!! Ncoh....between him and Jason, I can't decide who gets my (sms-less) vote! This is one tough competition and I hope baby Cam will be around till the end.....
I hope he stays as down to earth as he is....
Okay, she makes me look damn old but ncoh...Thembi's such a sweet lil' thing! From watching her first audtion, I was NOT happy that she made it through because I felt there were stronger contestants. She's still around and is most likely to still be there for at least the next two weeks and even though I wasn't totally convinced with her perfomance of Mariah Carey's Always Be My Baby, least of all Mara's claim that she's the rebirth of Brenda Fassie (wtf???), I'm happy that they are rigging the votes to keep her on the show....(lol, I really believe so).
This dude claims that he's Ntsepa's number 1 fan and will vote for her till kingdom come! Well, I hope his votes will count!
So, is Lendel leaving tonight or will Lize be crucified for going Halleluya on us? I didn't think it was bad and I really hope KZN will vote for quality and not "brotherhood". Lendel Must Go!
