As I observe Neville Meintjies going gaga over Felicity Daniels, I find it to be a potentially explosive situation.
Felicity has had a run in with the Mentjies, but not the old man. How is Charmaine Meintjies (Beukes) going to feel about this, since she looks at Felicity as a daughter. After all she stayed with Charlamaine (oubass).
“Felicity is described as ambitious and hard working, but knows how to have a good time. She is like a daughter to Charmaine and more often than not a loyal friend.”
7de Laan
“Neville is an intelligent man who takes life quite seriously. He is straight forward and is not fond of trivial conversation. But even though he is reserved, he is not rude. He is private and do not like to discuss personal affairs with anyone. Neville is a good father to his sons, Vince and Xander and support them completely.”

How will the brothers take the news, should the two “Neville and Felicity” become an item?
I find it very interesting and frustrating that Neville and Charmaine cannot find common ground when it comes to their feelings and love life. I guess it’s a running theme for 7de Laan and its confused couples. It is very clear that the Mentjies boys look to Charmaine as a mother; after all she was married to their father.
With each episode Neville’s feelings seem to take over and I do not think Felicity is even aware. What will she do? It is not like her love life is going anywhere. What a setup by the writers. I am happy because the show does not drag stories for eternity but it may make for exciting television as usual.
Do I think the two are a great idea?…NO! Should they become a couple? NO! Too creepy. But then again I don't write for the show and the fact that they can even consider this is typical soap entertainment.
If they made Altie’s new brainwave addition a bit taller than he is, he could have dated Felicity. Besides I think Marco and Felicity could make a good couple, but I don’t think that is a territory 7de Laan would like to go into. For more reasons I care to discuss.
Whatever the motivation behind this sharp curve from 7de Laan writers, involving Felicity and Neville in a potential crash into the lives of Chairmaine and the Meinjies boys, especially Errol. I do hope they have a great entertainment storyline lined up or else….we may just have a problem.
I think Charmaine will be devastated if the two become an item. More so by the fact that Neville has gone for a much younger female and to top it all off, someone she considered her own daughter.
Poor Chairmaine!
