as my sister said last night, they should consider making voting electronically as the wait for final results can be daunting.
well as we continue to wait i thought i should have a glimpse into all the presidents that we have had as a nation so far, i.e all presidents who have served under the democratic state.
Frederik Willem de Klerk, otherwise known as FW de klerk. Although he never lead the country under democracy but he played a pivotal role in supporting the negotiations that lead to a multiracial democracy.
He was also one of the Deputy Presidents during Neslon Mandale's tenure.
he is now involded in the FW de Klerk Foundation that celebrates diversity and works for national unity in the new SA. (this is according to the Foundation's website)
on april 22 he was recorded as saying that he has voted for an opposition party and its for the first time that he is not voting for the National Party since it has become disbanded.
Nelson "Tata/Madiba" Mandela needs no introduction but he was the first democratically elected president of SA. yesterday he kept his vote a secret.
Thabo Mbeki, the second president to run the democratic state and his second term was unforutanely cut short. in my opinion, he did well for the country pity some of the things we have not control over.yesterday he kept mum about who he voted for
Kgalema Motlante is the caretaker president after the Mbeki's resignation. i was warming up to his charms and the dignity he carries but it was a case 'gone to soon' but i have read that he will remain an advisor to JZ when he takes over the seat. wikipedia said he is the first 'Tswana' speaking President for SA LOLOLOL
Jacob "Msholozi" Zuma-as we wait with baited breath for him to be sworn into office. there is not really much to say about him as a president as we are still going to experience his leadership but one thing we know is that he will always have a cloud of controvesy over his head though he said "there is nothing, not even a mist" the world will stand and watch his leadership with a very close eye.
my question though is what really makes a good state leader?
p.s i am having trouble uploading pics, i will try later.
