Packed to the RaftersPremiere date: Tuesday, 30 June 2009 at 20h30
Continues: Tuesdays at 20h30
Packed To The Rafters is a new dramedy, that debuted in Australia last year. Written by Bevan Lee (a writer on Home and Away) the show features a unique storytelling format whereby the perspective changes each episode - so one week the story's told through the eyes of one character and the next another.
The scenario: Julie and Dave Rafter have double reason for celebration - it’s their 25th wedding anniversary and their youngest son is finally leaving home (although his new place is a little closer than expected.)
Unfortunately, as they look forward to a second honeymoon, unforeseen problems loom. Dave faces unemployment, Julie's widower father suffers a panic attack, son Nathan and daughter-in-law Sammy announce they need a place to stay, and daughter Rachel leaves her abusive boyfriend.
With their empty nest full once more, plenty of drama, lots of laughs and a few tears ensue as the Rafters learn to live under the same roof as their grown-up children again.
