Starting today (Friday, 11 December, 2009) Carnival City will be screening movies 24/7.
This from the press release about it:
In a local industry first, movie-lovers and midnight owls will be able to watch movies around the clock with Ster-Kinekor confirming that their 6 cinemas at Carnival City in Johannesburg will start screening movies 24 hours a day, every weekend, from next Friday 11 December.
Ster-Kinekor Group Marketing Executive, Michael Bender, says “it’s about innovation and giving our customers what they want. Carnival City is abuzz with weekend fun-seekers looking for a variety of entertainment options - and our research gives the 24-hour movie service a big thumbs-up with this audience.”
To help keep the late night owls bright-eyed, Ster-Kinekor is also introducing a special “midnight delight” catering offer of a Chaywa Coffee and muffins, in addition to the usual fare.
An additional 3 shows will be added to Ster-Kinekor Carnival City’s current line-up over weekends. Following the 22:00 shows on Fridays and Saturdays, the additional 3 shows are scheduled for 00:30, 3:00 and 5:30 every Saturday and Sunday morning ....
“If the 24-hour movie offer works as well as we expect, we will certainly consider rolling it out to other relevant venues around the country,” concludes Bender.
Ster-Kinekor Theatres offers customers multiple booking and information gathering options, including online bookings either on WAP-enabled cell phone, PC or by calling TicketLine 082 16789 (value added service rates apply), or book in cinema at the self service terminals (SSTs) or Box Offices.
