I've been having such a chuckle about what's been happening with this year's number 1 Christmas hit in the UK.
In case you don't know the story: the radical, angry, full-of-swearwords and dreadlocked song by American rappers Rage Against The Machine called "Killing In The Name" has kicked the butt of the reality show The X Factor to top the charts as the number one single for Christmas.
This year's X Factor was won by slappy boy-bander Joe McElderry and of course everyone expected his single The Climb (a cover of the Miley Cyrus song) to be the top seller this week before Christmas - a trend that happens with the shows' winners annually.
But they weren't counting on someone called Jon Morter, whose raged against the cheese and domination of it all by starting a facebook group to whack the show and song from the top position.
Jon started the Facegroup
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE FOR CHRISTMAS NO.1 that calls for peeps to make sure that Joe McElderry doesn't get the No. 1 spot by buying the 1992 Rage single instead.
Jon did the same last year, except with Rick Astley's terrible single Never Gonna Give You Up - and unsurprisingly it wasn't a success. For more about his exploits see this story in the
New York Times.
It doesn't surprise me that Rage has managed to do it - the song's so unbelievably fierce and rebellious there's no ways anything could stand up to it. Not even Simon Cowell, bwaha!
According to
The Mirror Simon's been forced to be impressed by it too. He's just told them: "I now realise I've taken too much for granted. I have got to hold my hands up. I accept there are people that don't like The X Factor."
Duh.PS: The main lyrics in the Rage song in case you haven't heard it: "F&*%^*k you, I won't do what you tell me." They start slowly and build-up to a scream.
