There are certain Artist i think they are just good enough as featuring artists. their albums are ussually a bore, lacks creativity, but when they feature someone else they bring life, creativity, they make a name for themselves, and the song is a hit because they are featuring it...

Now I have compiled my own top 5 Artists...here it goes;

1. Jay-Z: Well u gotta commend Jay, good producer, every song he features, is bound to be a hit!! so I dont understand why his albums are just OK...well thats my opinion...

Jay-Z

2. Akon: Wow, this man to me is a blessing to the music industry, every artist wants to feature him, cos they know he delivers, but i cannot stand to hear his voice for more than 3 songs, cos after that every other song in his album just sounds the same...

Akon

3. Bricks: Going Local now....Bricks, Bricks, Bricks...heh! heh! heh! need I say more...its okay for a short while. just imagine sitting through a 15 track CD, and all you hear is heh! heh! heh! OooH!! it sounds like a broken record

4. Mary J Blige: I love this woman no doubt...But i got to to say, she used to have hits back in the day...and now has atleast 2/3 in each album... but u know damn well if u feature her, its bound to be a hit, she has this presence, that kind off gets your attention, gets you interested, and brings so much drama/life to a song.
Mary J Blige

5. Busta Rhymes: *sigh* This man is insipid on his own, and yummy when featuring... (pun intended)
Busta

well which other artists do you find boring on their own, but very alive featuring??

4. Mary J Blige: I love this woman no doubt...

Mina i love Mary j and would buy all her albums i enjoy them , and she has her own voice !!!!
And talking of featuring Monica ( the boy is mine) now seems to be featuring only and hasnt released an album in a long time...

My guess is if you feature you get more money without working hard to produce a complete album look at Justin Timberlake he is also good with featuring as well as Timberland

R Kelly used to have a golden touch as well now he is history shame , all because of diaper loving !!!

Well, here is my take, I think it depends on whether you are hot at the time or not, cos you get people who feature on many albums for the year. Akon's voice is sometimes so annoying you start to wonder whether he is actually singing or just whining. I really don't like the collabo he did with Whitney on Like I never left, the whole arrangement is weak.
Lil Wayne (I still love him though) is so 2008, now everybody wants to feature Drake.

I think Jay-Z has an eye for good music but he needs to just feature on other artists' songs and be the boss. Empire state of mind and Young forever would still be great songs without him. I find myself looking forward to Alicia Keys' and Mr Hudson's singing and not him.

I think you are very mistaken about Bricks Sthe. That is one Kwaito artist that still writes good music, his songs always have a beautiful stotry line. If you don't believe me listen to Stokfeleni. Bricks has been lyrical from his first album. The fact that he has that he heh hoh as his trade mark doesn't mean he has no lyrics. We know Ntando for yelele yeye does that mean he does have lyrics. What about Jammie Fox? That guy does beautiful music, I have his latest alnum and it's awesome, listen to a girl who's got her own you will know what I'm talkin about tho my fav is blame it on the a a a alcohol.

Mary J was more successful as an artist back when she was miserable. now that she's found true love and is living happily ever after her music is just nje

Eminem for me be the man in every thing he does. He isnpires me with his furious life stories that he tells in most of his songs. One of the few rappers that potray real life situations in an extra fervesant way
