I Want To Sing Gospel 2, Episode 10 Recap

In This week's episode of I Want To Sing Gospel, we were able to listen to the remaining 5 finalists with 1 heading home.

First let me greet you all fellow bloggers in the Name of Jesus Christ and thank you once again for taking a turn and checking out this blog. Thanks Carino for last week's recap, you are a sweetheart...it was a tough week for me personally and because God is still at the throne I pulled through.

This weeks' guest judges were Jabu Hlongwane and Nonhlanhla Mdluli (Thabo's spouse). The theme was "The Blood of Jesus" and the top five contestants had to sing in duets with the 5 eliminated contestants. Once again Nhlakanipho and Malcolm are proving to be popular with people as they recieved the most number of votes. At the bottom were Mvuselelo, Thabani and Nombulelo.

Here's how it all unfolded:

Nombulelo and Nhlakanipho

They performed Ngimi esiphambanweni / Yekinhlanhla and for me it was uninspiring, they did not come to the party at all. They need to put more life and stop being comfortable. The judges liked how they interpreted the song.

Samkelisiwe and Mvuselelo

I didn’t enjoy their performance as much as the judges did. They composed a new song Igazi / Hlengiwe and they made a meal out of it. They were not blending and I couldn't understand what they were singing about, they were just making noise and I didn't feel them at all. The judges thought they were brilliant and gave them full marks. I disagree

Thabani and Thando

I must say it was the first time I felt Thando singing, she has a potential to be a great singer which must be given time to mature. They performed Ngenxa Yami / Owahlatshwa /  Ke Madi a Konyana. It was a good performance from this duet and the judges were impressed and said it was a much better performance.

Malcolm and Nozipho

These entertained with their rendition of Mangihlabelele ingoma / Just for Me and I enjoyed them. The judges commended them for their great, perfect tone and felt that they took it to another level.

Nonsikelelo and Nqobile

They had to close the show with the Imvana / Uphila Phakade, the worst performance of the night, as I said before Nqobile cannot sing and Mkhize is to blame for even allowing this boy to be in the top 10. They sang something and I can't recall what they were singing...it was horrible. As the judges mentioned it, Nqobile was uncomfortable with the English part, English or no English....Nqobile is not a singer.

Elimination

Nombulelo was eliminated and though I was rooting for her to win this competition, she just wasn't bringing it anymore and she was just comfortable with her beautiful voice and it was not enough. She had to challenge herself more.

Back to the competition, I don't know if it is me or my lack of musical knowledge but the competition is starting to be stale and dull. The contestants are just not wowing me anymore. I get bored listening to them and it's like they are not in the competition anymore.

Next week sees one of the contestants making a return through Mkhize's wildcard. I don't like this wildcard thing and you know how it went in season 1. What's your take fellow bloggers? Whom do you wanna see making a return? Please don't vote Nqobile...you are will just humiliate the poor boy.

Thank you for the recap Sobza, may you keep on walking away from what's troubling you.

I loved the T and T duet, and got me thinking that I should vote for Thando to come back in the competition and give these men at the top 4 a run for their money. They have forgotten that this is a competition.

They all have great voices, but not giving me anything to make me want to buy their cd's they have to up their game. Maybe their songs are too short and it doest give me enough time to listen to them and make a god choice.

That said I am abusing company resources to vote for Nhlaka, Thando and Nombulelo.

I enjoyed yesterday's show.

Nhlaks le Nombu were good for me, as well as malcom and Nozi ( still not voting for Malcom), but Nosipho deserves another chance shem... i enjoyed her singing.

I think with so much critisism around Nqobile, the poor guy has lost confidence... shame maan.  I'm with u Sobs, ha re ska moswabisang ho feta mona.

And the judges didn't help either.. they were so condescending i felt sorry for him.

Overall judging.. i thought it was fair.. @ least judges had constructive things to say to the contestants....

.Samkelisiwe and Mvuselelo ----I  didn’t enjoy their performance as much as the judges did........they were not blending and I couldn't understand what they were singing about, they were just making noise and I didn't feel them at all.

That compoosition was complicated shame - ngathi zezi opera's that I normaly go becoz my co-wokers r going - I normaly catch a snooz...lol

English or no English....Nqobile is not a singer.

And thank gudness abut Thabo wore pants that fit properly for a change. And the judges were honest this time around,no ass-licking. Poor poor Nqobile,shem...thats all I can say.
