Last night all roads led to the beautiful Sun City for the crowning of Miss SA 2011, TVSA was there to capture the moments as they happened. A big thank you to Sun International PR team for taking good care of us, Londi and Nicolette. The hotel room was such awesomeness since it was Sun City Main Hotel instead of the regular Cabana's that everyone sleeps at. Thank God there was no drama this year or any imposters as my partner and I checked in and collected our tickets well before 15:00 in order for us to be ready for the red carpet.
Those who follow @officialtvsa and @KeToodY on twitter know what our predictions were and how they became a reality during the night. Since our table (No 80) was situated by the door, one couldn't help but be the first to notice people's movements.
Rapulana and Kenneth Nkosi walked into the Super Bowl with alcohol glasses full on - one wondered whether they left a restaurant with them or took them from their rooms and ran tabs to the Mini Bar. Thighs of different shapes, colours and sizes were trading during the night, as well as weaves. Minister Razmatazz was there as well as the whole cabinet if I may say so - guess that's why #Thighs kept trending.
Must say I walked up to Minister Mbalula about 3 times and each time I got close to his table where his wife was seated I got cold feet, damn, so I didn't even snap him from the distance. Eish this info bill of theirs is working against us already.
Big Nuz gave an awesome perfomance as expected, Mampincha is
BAWS people ... His mkhaba dance deserves an award as well as Tira doin' the Latino Heat dance. Wonder why didn't they perform Ntombenhle since it was relevant to the event but none the less, awesome perfomance.
Every guy's favourite part of any beauty contest - the bikini's - pity it looks like pageants like this one aren't made for curves but still, after this I wouldn't have had a problem with going straight home.
Melinda Bam was crowned while her princesses were
Ramona Moodley and
Thuli Sangweni.
The Winners...
Thuli is such a long person or it might have been the heels ... most of the ladies were tall to long even with trending thighs ... that must have been a huge disavantage.
Miss SA 2011 Melinda Bam, striking pose ...
The ladies being congratulated by the jugdes - Sonia Booth left the dead bear she wore on the red carpet somewhere but Gert just couldn't part ways with his blue hair.
That would be me and Carino.
Ezase Afro... just couldn't find the big guy all night. Maybe he was filling up somewhere.
Trevor Gumbi was shooting for Headlines and he refused to take off his pants this time. Such an awesome dude this one ...
Outgoing queen ... Miss SA 2010 Bokang ...
Bra Hugh being interviewed for Headline: catch the interview Thursday on Mzansi Magic at 20:30.
For some reason I still can't remember who this actor pictured with his partner is ... must be all the whisky in my blood.
The ever beautiful Khabodacious with Toody..
Toody with Proverb who was the MC for the night.
Ausi Penny Lebyane.
Hotstix kept entertaining us while we were intoxicating ourselves, running the bill baby hehehe ...
This pic cracks me up... Myself and Kenneth Nkosi.
Snapped
Rapulana Seiphemo as he chatted with
Proverb and Kabelo Ngakane who seems to have cut his dreads.
See why am saying people were long?
and long....
The night and the experience was an awesome one - bettter than the past two years I must say. Big ups to Cap Events who I officially crown as THE BEST in producing LIVE events. They never go wrong.
A big Thank You to Louise from Times Live - every year we share a table and i generally a nice person. She takes good care of us - you would swear she is the host. Much love, thank you Television South Africa and Sun International.
