- Basketball legends Magic Johnson and Larry Bird are tonight’s first guests. With goading from Letterman, the two go over their sometimes prickly past. Magic also goes into detail about his struggles with HIV for the past 20 years.
- Indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs are tonight’s musical guests. The band from Leeds who formed in 1996 is named after the South African football club Kaizer Chiefs.

- Dave welcomes his first guest to the stage, comedian, writer and host of E! Fashion Police, Joan Rivers. Joan talks about her new book, “I Hate Everyone...Starting with Myself”.
- Completing his Indianapolis 500 Victory Tour, Dario Franchitti makes a guest appearance on the show. He talks about the briefly duelled final lap between Franchitti and racing car driver Takuma Sato. The catch is: Letterman is the co-owner of Takuma Sato's car.
- Musical guests, Silversun Pickups perform Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings) from their third studio album titled Necks Of The Woods.

- The first guest is How I Met Your Mother actor Neil Patrick Harris. Harris will also be hosting the 66th Annual Tony® Awards taking place on Sunday, 10th June. David finds out how the preparations have been going and what Neil has up his sleeve for the night of the awards.
- 32-year-old Swedish actress Noomi Rapace is tonight's second guest . ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ actress also admits to being rebellious when she was younger and left school at 15.
- Superstar and country singer Alan Jackson is tonight’s musical guest. Jackson’s amazing chart success has been chronicled in the release of 34 Number Ones, a career-spanning, double-disc collection featuring all of Jackson’s #1 hits to date. Jackson performs his chart-topping success and current single As She’s Walking Away.

- Jane Fonda is David’s first guest tonight. Also joining him is Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
- The Late show’s musical guest tonight is Jimmy Cliff. Promoting his newest album titled Sacred Fire, Jimmy performs the cover of The Clash’s Guns of Brixton.

- Bill Murray is the first guest to appear on the David Letterman stage. In his early career, Murray first gained national exposure on Saturday Night Live in which he earned an Emmy Award, and later went on to star in a number of critically and commercially successful comedic films, including Caddyshack (1980), Ghostbusters (1984), and Groundhog Day (1993).
- Closing off the show, is Australian Indie Rock band The Temper Trap. The group will be performing tracks from their second self-titled album via the Letterman Webcast.
