A headsup that Charlize They'ron will be guesting on
The Graham Norton Show this Friday (15 June at 20h35 on BBC Entertainment).
She'll be talking about her role in Prometheus which hit the No.1 spot at the South African box office this weekend. It opened on Friday (8 June) and immediately took top spot, ousting
Men In Black 3 which dropped to third.
Prometheus is also in 3D - it's a sci-fi epic that isn't what it was supposed to be. It's directed Ridley Scott (director of Alien and Blade Runner) and was originally intended to be a prequel to the Alien movies but then turned into an entity of its own.
This from the official description of it:
"With Prometheus, Scott creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race."
They embark on their journey aboard the ship Prometheus, with Charlize as the head honcho - she plays Meredith Vickers who's in charge of the ship and the overall mission. Also headlining the cast are Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce and
Idris Elba - star of
Luther.
Charlize appears on Graham Norton in hair that she doesn't have any more. She chopped it this week for her upcoming role in the new Mad Max movie Fury Road - pics of her "do" are splashed all over the interweb. This one from the
Huffington Post:
Everyone's going totally overboard about it, claiming "She's bald!". No she isn't. It's short but it isn't domed. There's hair under that hat.
Also completely over-hyped is
Mad Men's Jon Hamm (
yawn) - he'll be co-guesting with her on Graham Norton. They'll be joined by Brit comedian Steve Coogan and musical guest Rumer, who I've never heard before.
At first I thought she was Bruce Willis' daughter but it turns out she isn't. As bizarre as it is, she just happens to have the same celeb-baby-name. Have you also never heard of her?
Here's a Prometheus trailer ... it starts off generically but then heats up when things turn bad. Lookout for
Dark Blue's Logan Marshall-Green:
