NETWORK ANNOUNCES “THE COMEDY CENTRAL ROAST OF ROSEANNE”

Roseanne Barr Large

Comedy Central USA is rolling out the red carpet for one of America’s most outspoken and pioneering comedians. The network has announced that Roseanne Barr will be the next Roastee to be roasted on its US TV platform.

“The Comedy Central Roast Of Roseanne” (#RoseanneRoast) will be taped in Los Angeles on Saturday 4 August and air on Comedy Central (DStv Channel 122) across Africa on Monday 17 September at 21:45 CAT.

“Although Roseanne appears to be a demure, soft-spoken woman eternally committed to the status quo, we believe under the surface is an explosive, trail-blazing cultural revolution. We are honoured to Roast her,” said Kent Alterman, Head of Original Programming and Production, Comedy Central.

“Celebrating Roseanne’s unprecedented achievements in comedy and television will surely inspire us to make this Roast more reminiscent of the classic roasts, where the intimacy of friends jousting with each other came through.”

When asked about the Roast, Roseanne remarked, “All I can say is good luck finding anything about me to make fun of ... I mean, I've never made a mistake or offended anyone in my life!”

“The Comedy Central Roast Of Roseanne” will be executive produced by Joel Gallen from Tenth Planet Productions, who also served as Executive Producer and Director of the Comedy Central Roasts Of Charlie Sheen, Donald Trump, David Hasselhoff, Joan Rivers, Larry The Cable Guy, Bob Saget, Flavor-Flav, Pamela Anderson, as well as the Emmy-nominated “Comedy Central Roast Of William Shatner.” Jonas Larsen is the Executive in Charge for Comedy Central.
