Reconstructive Surgery
Plastic surgeons aren't jsut there for cosmetic enhancements. Much of what they do saves lives and gives people a second chance. Today's show takes a look at the less glamorous side of plastic surgery: reconstructive surgery.
The Smile Foundation works tirelessly to ensure children and adults with cleft palates once again get a chance to smile. Burn victims, like Pippie who has captured the hearts of South Africans, need extensive surgery not only to regain a normal appearance but also in order to live.
