The ninth annual Channel O Awards took place at Walter Sisulu Square in Soweto last night (17 November) and aired in a delayed broadcast on Channel O. The ceremony aired live but the broadcast was delayed when events ran late.

Part of the meltdown involved overbooked seats that left some celebrities stranded. TVSA blogger Makisto was reporting from within the action and tweeted the fiasco:

The red carpet countdown was hosted by Lalla Hirayama and Dineo Moeketsi and the ceremony was hosted by Bonang Matheba and nominee Ice Prince, who won the category Most Gifted Hip Hop Video.

This was the best production of CHOMVA, the red carpet was flowing nicely and the awards were flowing okay as well. (Can always get better)

the director could have done a better job though with perfomances,

The way I don't vote for anyone, and I'm not complaining about the winners shem. The artists can also pull a TS Records and vote for themselves.

Twas an awesome production overall.

Funny i heard but i didn't know the dates.

I'll assume DBang is the man on the 1st pic. He is not bad at all & i love his outfit.

But voting on the web was free nje and one could vote in all categories at least once every hour. Essentially, for 3 hours, you could vote in all category 3 time for free from your work station bandla
Publicity helps sometimes in cases like this.

Congra to the winners.

@Makisto....honestly, I didn't know you could vote on the web. But I don't even buy these artists' music.....so there was no vested interest from my side
