Elephant Apology
The footage of an elephant “care” taker hitting his charge in the face with a stick caused an outcry against Brian Boswell's Circus, which uses live animals in its acts.
Now the carer, who’s been suspended, says he’s sorry and that his behaviour was out of order, while circus owner Brian Boswell says he’s sent the elephants away on a holiday. Carte Blanche reports back.

Celiwe and PippieEach year in South Africa, thousands of children are burnt because of the careless use of candles, paraffin stoves and open fires. Pippie Kruger was born to parents with the will and the means to save her life when she sustained 80 percent burns to her little body.
Now the Kruger’s efforts to bring miracle skin cloning technology to South Africa has also made a difference to five-year-old Celiwe Maseko. Carte Blanche was there when the bandages came off.
Producer: Amalia Christoforou
Presenter: Chantal Rutter-Dros
Carte Blanche is on M-Net on Sundays at 19h00.
