TVSA can exclusively reveal that the twin-set reality show Blame It on Fame has been cancelled by e.tv and won't be back.

The series, which followed celebrity twins Hlelo and Ntando Masina, first debuted in September 2011 and returned for Season 2 in July last year. Both seasons ran for 13 episodes and followed the Twinz as they navigated their celebrity lives, family and business interests.

The second season picked up from the first season but with one difference: the production company. The first season was produced by Rapid Blue (Strictly Come Dancing, SA's Got Talent) and the second by Black Brain Pictures (City Ses'la, Ses'Top La).

So why has it been canned? According to e.tv, it's to feature other celebs.

This from e.tv's Manager of Local Productions Keshni Rajoo: "e.tv is constantly reviewing its content strategy to reflect its audience needs and requests. The celebrity reality format has proved to be very popular on the channel and our audience wanted to see more celebs. In line with this, the channel decided to take on other celebrity reality shows to showcase different celebrities."

Clearly the Twinz need to ... blame it on fame!

I don't think it had anything to do with the ratings cos for the timeslot they were pulling more than a million viewers. I know that when they did their Up Close with Niki Greenwall, they said they left Yfm to concentrate on their company.

@Ms Opiniated i agree with you, what they are doing to Club 808 is not on and i love that show,in the last ratings they got over a million but before that is was less than a mil(around 800K) Was not really a fan but what are they doing now,no YFM now this?

It is indeed true when it is said entertainment industry is a cut throat. One moment you are talk of the town and boom you are out in the cold with no job. They will keep on saying "we are working on something" when asked about their whereabouts. Ya season 2 annoyed me too cos everything seemed scripted, oh as for Reality Check I have never bothered to watch it, it seems like an epic fail
