The likes of Lerato Kganyago et al really had nothing on Buhle Samuels when auditioning for Muvhango’s newest femme fatale Matshidiso. Matshidiso is set to cause havoc…
Following
much media and public speculation over the past year about the likes of Lerato Kganyago, Bonang Matheba, Terry Pheto and others who were rumoured to be auditioning for a coveted role on Muvhango, the role finally went to a much unknown face on TV, Buhle Samuels.
The producers of Muvhango have finally lifted the veil on the actress who beat the likes of Lerato Kganyago and Kay Matidze in the auditions for the much coveted role of Matshidiso Mofokeng. This comes after the show refused to inform media about who landed the role of Matshidiso. In fact, Muvhango refused to do even cover magazine interviews and photoshoots with Buhle until she at least debuted on screen for fear of leakage.
In fact, my mole tells me the show wanted to go all out in introducing her to the public. However, refusing interviews for magazine covers may not have been a wise move because let’s face it now, how best do you introduce a character on a soapie if not in a magazine cover. My mole who is privy to the show’s workings, alleges things were a bit tense on set about how Matshidiso/Buhle should be introduced to the media and there quite a few causalities. “Buhle is given preferential treatment on set and that doesn’t sit well with other actors. It’s like the whole Khanyi Mbau situation all over again”, says my mole.
Back to Matshidiso, the role of the femme fatale who crawls out of the woodworks to make all sorts of claims [that Ranthumeng is her fiancé] on a bedridden Ranthumeng played by Brian Temba, went to newcomer Buhle Samuels (23) a former Africa Magic breakfast show presenter and Africa Magic breakfast show presenter.
Matshidiso exudes confidence and major sex appeal. When she walks into a room you take note, be it good or bad but you can feel her presence. She has a charming and captivating smile. She dresses to the nines and her weave is on point.
While Thandaza the martyr has crossed swords with Doobsie, Meme, Meiki and Teboho without breaking a sweat, it seems in Matshidiso she may have finally met her perfect match.
Will the busy body that is Mampho throw her weight behind Thandaza or let the two battle it out over her nephew? Will Ranthumeng fall for Matshidiso’s charms and use his divorce with Thandaza as his decision weapon against Thandaza who looks over the hill, against Matshidiso the fierce youngling?
