No, this isn't a Blaqueboi Class Act thingie. While he is still busy with other commitments, the show must go on, as they say in showbiz. The show musn't just go on for the sake of going on, it must be class act. This term, for the purpose of this Monday, isn't limited to the SABC 1 show, it extends to shows that know what they are on about and aren't confused and resort to mediocrity.
Oh please, is that the best you could do? Seriously now?
Speaking of confusion and mediocrity, I think the folks at Generations should take bloggers' criticism on their strides and do a complete storyline overhaul. The way in which Paul Mashaba was written out of the storyline is beyond mediocrity and shows no challenge to writers. However, you lot enjoy the rubbish while Makisto takes it to the bin these days. Thanks to Dstv's Vuzu and Mzansi Magic, I don't have to be tortured by the show blunders, plus, there is BBA and Idols channels mostaan.
Unlikely match: Mem and KK
Makisto wants to put it on record that Gene what what creator baba Mfundi Vundla will never get an Honorary Doctorate like Muvhango creator baba Duma Ndlovu did in May. Bloggers applauded Dr Ndlovu for a job well done and lifting the un-kissing veil. Firs it was Spha and Vuyiswa who kissed now it's the Chief kissing wife's younger sister. And lol, on the other side it's Meme and KK's ugly relationship, just like KK. Makisto thinks it was great of Muvhango to write about emotional abuse.
Mulalo wanna beat up the Chief
Speaking of Muvhango, Makisto wants to put it on record that it is actually not fair at all that the show has done a great some improvement on the show. They have done so greatly while mantaining their identity, namely, that of being proud about African cultures. The Chief is kissing little girls and his royal wives are outraged and big decisions are going to be made soon. The once dull village that is Thathe is now full of gossiping and so are we. Phela that royal house is now scandalised tjo! Chief Azwindini, just be careful that Mulalo doesn't replace you. What a great storyline!
Barker bloody Haines
While still on great storylines which is something Gene what what don't even know how to spell it, Isidingo is also reaching the peak and things are just going from interesting - such that it isn't fair on us as viewers because we have to book our front row seats - to attention-demanding. Actually, Isidingo is currently on top of the must do list of many bloggers. Just ask Cheesa. Shim was once a die-hard Rythm City fan but the return of Mrs Cherel de-Villiers-Haines-Cooper-Kumar-Holmes-Jaibird saw shim reaching for her remote control. Can Makisto ask Wits to give Isidingo exec producer Pumla Hopa an honorary doctorate in something?
Banna, I didn't watch the episodes of Thursday and Friday during the omnibus yesterday, thanks to being a student and having an assignmentin which I have to review Tsotsi and some Afrikaaner movie Roepman. I have to pay special attention to technicalities and all and if I was a cheat, I was gonna ask Tha-bang to do the 1 000 words feature article review for me. But, how will my lecturer know Tha-bang wrote it for me. The end should justify the means lol. Roepman is a class act sheim.
Black people should try watching Roepman
You see, Roepman gives us a window view of a typical Afrikaans family. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't watch the film especially that in Pta it's only showing in Menlyn and I had to fork out a whopping R45.00 for the ticket as opposed to Sterland's R15.00. My lecturer, who works at a Sunday tabloid, is convinced the film will get an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film and after having watched it yesterday, I agree sheim.
The film's theme is based on the loss of innocence with the best line from the film being: Innocence is something you appreciate once you have lost it. Told through the eyes of an 11-year old boy named Timus, the movie is set in a 1966 railway community. Timus and his family are trapped within the structural violence caused by the government and the church at the time. An unlikely hero who is also kind of kookoo (thanks to his mom) Joon, often appears to save Timus, which Timus views as miracles. Timus tells the story of his own coming of age, his loss of innocence and how Joon tries to get a little of that innocence back. The poor boy escapes a near-rape incident by a neighbourhood dude and runs home crying but momie doesn't even ask what's wrong thinking Timus is also devastated by the death of Frufru, so to use the family's helper's pronounciation of Verwoerd.
This poor boy, Paul Loots, does a sterling job as Timus
Nobody shares Timus's point of view, but Joon however goes on to do a little more saving in the community. Imagine the sneaking through the windows when people are in their bedrooms that you did when you were 11 and the house that you played. This film is a class act.
Class Act is back and Monyeen's tongue is more sharper
While on the theme of Class Act, kante vele Moonyeenn Lee doesn't have to forget her sharp tongue at home? You know, her co-judges seem to be sucking up to her agreeing with everything they say. Don't they have their own views? Hau, Raps, maybe Carino may remove you on the list of her fave people for this. Yes the judges need to critique the costentants but hai...You know, sometimes a scene is told through the understanding of a director and I don't see the judges taking that into consideration. Makisto is of the opinion that the judges need to read the scripts before the live show. I'm just saying.
I don't wanna be long today so you can tell us what, according to you, is class act.
