after reading the article about divas, i was inspired to come up with this article. until this very day i still ask if music will ever be same...i am talking about your typical gladys knight, tevin campbell, the temptations dionne warwick.........i am talking about your typical boys 2 men, sam salters and shania twain and the old marih carey........

will the current music ever revive from people perfoming naked jus' to sell records? will the music ever revive from being remixed over and over again......where is originality in the current music.

here in mzantsi, will we ever have another brenda fassie or lebo mathusa.....is ther a new letta mbulu in near fiture? what happened to music? will ther be life in the music scene after jennifer hudson? will beyonce be as hot after having a kid or two?, will her carreer be as booming after she decides to cover up?

laat ons praat.........what kid of music do you prefer? whats your opinion on the current music? do you see a future of musicians  who can actually singand not parade half naked to sell music?

i now i am stuck in the 80's and  90's ....

What ever happened to using capital letters to start sentences and using full stops to end them. What happened to using Capital letters for NOUNS etc?

I think that you have a point about the originality of music in this country. We recycle music like there is no tomorrow. I'm definitely still stuck in the 80's and 90's

With time u learn to luv the music even nthe one u dont understand and started out hating , when i moved to this country ( out of SA)i really didnt like the music , To me it sounded like the singers are crying and i stayed next to a church when i woke up in the morning i will hear that noise n when i get back to my place i will hear that, now i luv waking up to it , i luv their singing and when i go to the traditional restuarant i even dance to the music.

and you must always remember the only constant thing in life is change

Their music sound all the same to me, their voices are the same & above all their music doesn't have content!  You can call me old skool, its ok. I listen to bo Michael Bolton, Atlantic Starr etc etc...honestly bo Beyonce are just screaming on my ear!

Whatever happend to Lebo Mathosa being called Lebo Mathusa...

i'm still stuck in the last decades, now i hear new names everyday and never hear the music, talk about Lady Gaga and the likes.

The likes of Anthony Hamilton, Lemar and Seal really do it for me and i think i'll still listen to them even in 10yrs time like I'm still listening to The Temptations, and Gerald Levert, Galdys Knight.

I really hate the person who came up with the idea of remixing songs....nxaaa!!

Ahhh whatever happened to D'Angelo? I wanna cruise and be someone's Brown Sugar.
I'm all for someone being inspired by Anthony Hamilton to ask me "Do you feel me", and then me doing a Jennifer Hudson and just 'give myself over"
Nx I miss TK's voice.."Where did I go wrong?"
Someone take me back to the time when music was music!

@ms.teddy

I listen to bo Michael Bolton, Atlantic Starr etc etc...honestly bo Beyonce are just screaming on my ear!

I was listening to Michael Bolton's Said I loved you But I Lied  yesterday, powerful song

I remember when we were growing up eish Sekgowa bathong we used to sing it like " Said I loved You But I Lied, this is not the love I feel inside" especially after you've broken up with your teenage crush.

It's not so long ago that I understood the lyrics much better" Said I loved you but I lied this is more than Love I feel inside, said i loved u but I was wrong, love could never ever feel so strong"

this days all you get is about ripping ur clothes off, and f**ing u up until u scream someone's name, LYRICAL PORN if us ask me

Yu nna as much as i love the oldies music, i'm moving with the times. not long the music will be robotized and no real voice will be heard anymore. i think all one needs to do is to keep all the good music they treasure safe.

I have my favourite all time singers like Stevie Wonder, Aretha etc. and I love Jeniffer Hudson, John Legend and Neo..

honestly bo Beyonce are just screaming on my ear!
@ms tebby i thought i was the only one who felt those screams....
and they're music videos are so busy and you just can't follow....remember back in the day when there were music videos that made you stop what ever you were doing and sit down and watch whn on tv...and you'd fall inlove with it... those vidoes were not about sexy fast dance moves & all they were just simple and the dance moves where slow
 - remember how everybody in the family would get together at grandma's house during the christmast holidays and would love the same song & everyone would dance to it when it played on Umhlobo Wenene even umakhulu (grandma)....and the crazy uncle (there's always a crazy person in the family - well i think) would play his jazz and show everybody how to dance to the songs & everyone would love Hugh Masekela's Tanai, Grazing in the Grass& Marketplace and he'd make us listen to Oliver Mtukudzi and tell stories (sometimes lies) about the mines & the struggles & how he traveles around africa....Eish i miss the good old days...

nice article @ whatever happened. @ Tholi: im sure u not serious about not listening to music anymore, dude!!!
Good music was made back then, i guess its true that most artists nowadays only 1st album is good, then after that they release wack albums.
l also listen to a lot of 80's, 90's music now thats good music. Tevin Campbell,Ojays,Temptations,Teddy Pendergrass,Levert, Old Whitney H. list is endless, well apart from Mzansi Divas are like.

Luther Vandross what a soulful artists, GOD BLESS HIS SOUL, he died before I can even go to his concert.

R Kelly's music is also not bad, cos we're still go crazy @ his old songs

Beyonce Knowles

The reason why she does not want to have kids until 35 is because she knows once she takes that break it will be easy for the fans to forget her and her organized noise (oops sorry music)
