Khanyi Mbau's talk show Katch It With Khanyi is officially the number one talk show in South Africa.
The show's been tucked away on OpenView HD's eKasi+ channel since October last year but on Monday, 15 September it debuted on e.tv at 18h00 and owned the talk show ratings.
It immediately took the spot as the number one talker, ousting SABC2's long-suffering Motswako - which has
never recovered since it moved from Mondays at 21h00.
Katch It With Khanyi debuted with a viewership of 785,000 viewers bumping Motswako from it's perch by over 30 000 viewers. Motswako's viewership in the same week was 753 000 viewers.
Khanyi isn't the only one to out-talk other talkers. Masechaba Lekalake's talk show Eksê: Let's Talk has also made a tongue-wagging impact.
The show was on e.tv in the mornings only and was extended to evenings at 18h00 on Tuesday, 16 September. It airs Tuesdays to Thursdays and it's more popular than Noeleen and 3Talk.
It pushed 3Talk to the bottom of the Talk Show Top 5 list during it's first week on air. SABC3's other talk show Tongue in Cheek disappeared from the list completely.
Amidst all this, SABC2's Vusaseki remains in the middle of things. Here's a look at viewership for the week before Khanyi and Masechaba arrived on the scene, followed by the viewership when their shows started:
