SABC1 soapie giant Generations went dark in September following the mass firings and other related shenanigans and the show returns tonight in a reinvented form, set two years after the events we last saw.
Called Generations: The Legacy, the show features a raft of new cast members including the return of Tau Mogale (Rapulana Seiphemo), Letoya Mangezi, Ivy Nkutha, Thuli Phongolo and Manaka Ranaka.

Generations comeback set two years in the future
Ahead of the premiere tonight we whispered in the ears of some Serious People and can reveal three of the lines you'll be hearing on the show tonight, along with who speaks them. Not exactly teasers, but see if you can work out what they are talking about:
"If the person who stated it dies, it dies too." – Tau
Makes sense coming from Tau - the guy disappears every five minutes only to be resurrected seemingly at will. He's the ghost of the ghost of Tau. So clearly his above comment is utter nonsense.
"You'll be lucky to see me go." – Lucy
We don't know anything about the character of Lucy, although we do know she is played by stalwart Manaka Ranaka. Sounds like she might be a troublemaker, saying things like that. If you're lucky for someone to go, it means they can't be all that fun to be around in the first place. Surely?
"Make me see the new Jerusalem. The land of milk and honey." – Gadaffi
Great line, spoken by another new character - Gadaffi (Vuyo Dabula), Tau's arch enemy who is trying to derail the Paul Moroka legacy for reasons that are as yet unclear.
His line is exactly the sort of thing you expect some gangster to say. Like Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction: "I just thought it was some cold-blooded sh*t to say to a motherf*cker before I popped a cap in his ass. Make me see the new Jerusalem. The land of milk and honey."
This new Gen looks like it might be some kinda bad-ass. We'll find out tonight if that is so.
Speaking of which - there will be a Generations Returns live blog which goes live on TVSA at 19h30 tonight - stop by and blog along live with us as we watch a significant moment in the history of the show.
