South African sporting stars swapped their sportsgear to get flashy at the 2014 SA Sports Awards on Sunday night. The ceremony was held at the Sandton Convention Centre and aired live on SABC1 and SuperSport.
The big winner of the night was Banyana Banyana striker Portia Modise who won the public's vote for the coveted SA Sports Star of the Year award. Last month Portia became the first African player to score 100 goals in international matches so the award was a perfect tribute to her kick-busting moves. Her win also struck a goal for feminism as she was the only woman in the category.
If you missed the broadcast, you can catch a repeat on SuperSport 4 tonight at 21h30.
