The Style Network has eventually been put out of it's suffering after years of being as untrendy as Paris Hilton currently is.
The channel's been canned by NBCUniversal who've replaced it with the Esquire Network in the US but not in Africa. This from DStv about it:
Universal Networks International (UNI), who offers this channel outside of the US, has been evaluating options for the channel on a territory-by-territory basis in markets where Style operates.
In Africa, the outcome of that evaluation is that Universal Networks International will withdraw Style from Africa from Sunday, 1 February 2015 and focus their strategic efforts on their other channel brands - E! Entertainment Television, Universal Channel, Telemundo and Studio Universal.
We'd normally be annoyed at not getting the replacement channel but in this case it's definitely the better option because Esquire Network seems to cater to men who drink in American bars. Take a look at the channel's shows and you'll see what we mean:
Esquire shows.
