Soapiewars - Round 3 (The 9pm slot)

Round three started with an opening scene from Muvhango’s Prof&Busi, two of the worst possible characters to start a fight with Mr.Duma Ndlovu, or were you not aware you’re going into a ring? Because they are weaklings, we are expert Tv viewers, so we can tell when two people suck at loving eachother. Thank goodness Muvhango doesn’t have sex/kissing scenes. Otherwise we wud’ve totally trashed our flat screens with rotten eggs and tomatoes.

While Busi was whispering, whatever nonsense into the Prof’s ear as usual, Umlilo started the scene with a naked scene, almost naked. And who was the woman? Tshidi from Rythmn City, and her polygamist almost overweight husband spooked the hell out of everyone at home. Because lets face it, men rarely get naked on screen, especially black men. So while my mouth was cleaning my fallen plate of dinner on the floor, the couple started kissing and appeared to be a normal couple to what later was revealed to be a man living in a house with two wives.

Reminds you of Chief Azwindini right? Except this guy isn’t a chief, and he isnt Zuma either, he’s just a moneyed man who sleeps in whatever bed he chooses. The storyline is similar to Muvhango, so it wud’ve been nice if Umlilo was 5times a week, to give Muvhango a run for their money. And it would’ve been absolutely fantastic to see the old Busi five times a week again and to see Thandeka from Isibaya just as much.

The two ended in a draw, to this weeks soapiewar round 3 (9m slot).

So while my mouth was cleaning my fallen plate of dinner on the floor,
I literally have tears rolling down my eyes from laughing so hard. Umlilo is a bit short of eye candy for the ladies I must say. I am enjoying it though.

Im a soccer fan,and on mondays i watch Soccerzone. Catch repeat ya Muvhango next day. I was soo looking forward to Umlilo shame, last week i watched it between ad breaks. Its a goody, pity there are no repeats. I agree it should be 5 times a week,or the cut it in half for Mon & Tue 30minutes instead of the hour

My vote goes to Umlilo! You can say that again about Busi's acting (can we also add Ma Nkosi while we're at it). I also wish they had more screenings as opposed to only once a week. So Monday night I'll be watching Umlilo, recording Ayeye and record the repeat of Muvhango in the morning as they all air at 21h00. #TVLover
