Superbo news on this fine Thursday! ... SABC1's landed the South African rights to the fantabulous international reality competition The Sing-Off.
And the search for a capella singers is
on.
If you've seen the series, you'll know that it stars a capella groups who go head-to-head in sing-offs and that the results are splendid.
If you're in such a group - or can organise one pronto - here's how to audition:

Johannesburg: 14 and 15 March 2015
Venue: The Soweto Hotel, corner of Union Ave and Main Rd, at The Walter Sisulu Square of Dedication, Kliptown, (Freedom Square).
Times: Saturday 14 March 2015: 09h00 to 19h00; Sunday 15 March 2015: 09h00 to 17h00
Polokwane: 16 and 17 March 2015

What you need to prepare
Prepare three vocal performances - no longer than three minutes each. Groups might not perform all songs but should be prepared.
Song choices can include:
- Local song - current popular
- Local song - classic
- Own composition
- International popular pong
Two of the songs
must be recognizable popular cover songs.
Medleys are allowed but should be no longer than three minutes.
ALL musical styles are accepted.
Choreography, creativity and dress are encouraged to enhance your performance.
Instruments and backing tracks are
NOT allowed.
Beatboxing and all vocal sounds are encouraged.
Audition must-knows
Microphones will be provided at the auditions.
Groups must be no bigger than 5 members.
Each member of the group needs to be 18 or older.
Each member must take a copy of a valid ID with them.
Tips from the production
Sing and audition with what you know well.
Be creative with your music, interpretations and arrangements. Don’t be afraid to make the music your own.
Come in with an identity for your group that defines you from the others - a unique name, sound and look.
If you are not a part of a group, come through and make a group at the auditions.
Keep your key or note close by - use your pitching fork, tuner or even cellphone so you hit the right note for your audition
Come in hard with your best song.
Put variation into your performance.
Bring something to eat or drink to the auditions. You may have to wait a bit.
