Cool - and very surprising - news about Survivor...
The show's been on SABC3 for light years but we've never seen the premieres properly and now, for the first time in history, we're going to.
Season 25: Philippines starts this Monday (30 March) and it's starting exactly as it should - with a double bill of episodes starting at 20h30 and ending at 22h00. I was shocked when I heard - gobsmacked out of my flip-flops - who would have thunk SABC3 would actually do such a thing??
It's eventually going to be the feast it's supposed to be and one can make the evening a memorable event.
You may remember that this is the season of Medical Evacuees. Three former emergencies are returning to try their luck again after getting hurt and ejected during their first attempts. They are:
Michael Skupin
Originally on: The Australian Outback
Michael was the first person to ever be medically evacuated from Survivor after he passed out and fell into the fire at camp. His wounds were too hectic to be treated on location so he had to be evacuated from the game, causing him to narrowly miss out on the merge.
Jonathan Penner
Originally on: Cook Islands
Then: Micronesia
Jonathan started out on Cook Islands and then returned as one of 10 returning contestants who competed against Survivor "superfans" in Micronesia.
After one week of being safe, Jonathan was moved to the Airai tribe after an unexpected tribe switch. Jonathan, along with James, Jason, Siska and Eliza, led Airai to several victories before a knee injury started getting worse and worse, forcing him to evacuate.
Russell Swan
Originally on: Samoa
Russell led his tribe in domination against the Foa Foa tribe but he was abruptly pulled from the game due to severe dehydration.

The threesome are joined by 15 other players. Keep a lookout on TVSA for more about them in the season's Who's Who in the Zoo.
