I'm not the leader. I don't want to be leader. But - you HAVE to do as I say.
The bliss of Survivor is back sweet reader. Complete with the usual crop of Losers who don't have a clue what they're doing even though they're so convinced they do. Loudly. And a lot. Russell spent the entire premiere doing the exact opposite of what he proclaimed he would do.
He also spent copious amounts of time being extremely annoying with all that, "Oh yes, I've played the game before
you know. Did you know?? I'll say it again and again and
again." Bah!
I would rip into him even more - destroy him with my words - if it wasn't for the fact that I've done the same thing before - which irritates me like you can't believe. Not the bragging about being on Survivor obviously but saying that you won't do something and then doing it moments after you've said (and believed!) it. I've had sleepless nights about it in the past because I honestly can't get my head around how it happens. That you can know - without a doubt - that you
must not do something and then find yourself doing it.
Despite (and even because of) my understanding of his situation he needed a mega smack - same thing with Jonathan. Their poor handling of their tribes was cringeworthy. They both alienated themselves immediately and were terrible at hiding it. Jonathan was useless - all that going off by himself sucked - and Russell just got lucky that Tribal Council came down to him and an extremely crap version of Eminem.
In stark contrast to both Russell and Jonathan: Mike excelled. He didn't once suggest that he's superior to his tribe because of being "in the know". All he did was hurt himself a lot and everyone was finished for him, mesmerised by the legend status his wounds have created.
Interesting that he's so into Lisa for an alliance I thought. In
his Q&A he said that one of the three things he wanted to take to the island was an unbreakable alliance and from the looks of it he's seeing it in Lisa because he's such a fan.
The fame dynamics that are happening in Tandang are trippy - and also really highlight how bizarre it is when it comes to different people's perspectives on such things. Mike knows Lisa so well because of the Facts of Life series and yet the rest of the tribe don't have a clue because of their age -
but Mike's the same age as Lisa and yet the rest of the tribe are his fans.
Should he align with Lisa? I'd like him to because an unbreakable alliance would be super - reckon she'd be 100% committed but she could also be a thorn in his already-busted foot because the tribe see her as an outsider.
For now I'm not going to trouble my mind with such things though - I simply want Tandang to dominate and win because they're an immediate favourite as a tribe. There are definitely problems with them - like that RC, the Investment
boober banker - she has a lot to say and she's very confident - which could go either way. She could be suitably confident or (more likely) she could be too cocky. We need to see more of her to know.
